Despite the loss, TV Coach Amy Horsley praised the team's performance: "I'm proud of our team for playing so well in the first set and showing grit and resiliency throughout the match."
The Teays Valley Vikings were fueled by outstanding individual performances, led by Brianna Helser's dominant 20-kill, 4-block effort, complemented by 5 digs. Ella McGee delivered an impressive 18-kill, 7-block display, adding 2 digs. Meanwhile, Brenna Carothers and Ellie Tatman shone in the back row, with Carothers posting a perfect 21/21 serving day, 3 aces, 26/28 serve receive, and 14 digs. Tatman mirrored, going 18/19 serving with 4 aces, 22/23 serve receive, and a team-high 24 digs. Coach Thoughts: "We will hit the weight room today, watch the film, and focus on performing well in our upcoming games. Our goal is to continue getting better each game to prepare for tournaments and emphasize the importance of improving hitting off the net, out-of-system play, serve receive, and defense. Says Horsley
Next up for the Vikings will be Monday at Hilliard Darby for the “Digging Out Cancer game, then back for OCC play against Reynoldsburg and Groveport next week.
