Sidney is only good in girls basketball
Greenville is only good at girls softball
Butler has only good at baseball
Stebbins……..
West Carollton…….
Piqua is good at what outside of football?

Trotwood was dominate in football, Basketball, girls basketball has done well, Track, and did ok in wrestling. Yes they weren’t as good in the non revenue sports. But there were plenty other teams who were just as bad
I do not think it is whether the team is good or bad rather about fielding teams in all sports. Still believe Trotwood got dirty end of the stick

LOL!!!!!! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

Catsx3... my man, if you don't follow other sports closely (and I'm guessing you don't by those sweeping generalizations, Greenville wins girl golf every year and is solid in cross country and Butler darn good at boys and girls soccer every year and girls basketball, just as a few quick examples of the top of my head not even getting into that ridiculous Sidney comment), don't comment on stuff like this.

As to Trotwood, the reason they were left out of the MVL is simple: they weren't wanted, were never included among the 10 teams who got together to leave the GWOC.

Why would they? They are a bad fit, sorry. They're out of the way for most schools in the league to get to (even moreso than Xenia is for most) and none of the MVL teams wanted to get blitzed in football and basketball by Trotwood every year and then blitz them in every other sport, like they did for years. Oh, and they're a terrible gate.

And frankly, I know scheduling sucks for them, but Trotwood is way better in Dayton Public than MVL. They can schedule big-time nonconference games in football and boys basketball they couldn't schedule with all the league games MVL plays.
SJ you're exactly right, the sports you mentioned no one follows closely not even the students or staffs at those aforementioned schools in fact, those events are free to attend(besides tournament) so essentially, no one cares.

As for Trotwood, yet again, you're correct they weren't wanted and wasn't included in the departure however, Trotwood dominated those schools in the popular sports. Those schools could no longer compete with Trotwood the games were not close, that definitely had something to do with it. So no they were not a fit in the high revenue sports and actually, Greenville is out the way for everyone. Their city borders with Indiana, Trotwood is 30 miles from Indiana. Geographically and athletically, they should be in the WOAC there are teams in that conference they can't beat.

Greenville, besides wrestling has a terrible travel gate as do West Carrollton in all sports, Troy in basketball, no one goes to Xenia games or Piqua basketball.

Honestly the MVL is a good league for the schools that are in it considering the quality and level of competition, that's not a bad thing. Occasionally, Piqua may make some noise statewide in football and Troy and Tipp will have a 2 week playoff run but other than that, on a statewide scale it is a less than average league.

Do I need to mention Stebbins?

The league scab has been picked again. Trotwood got screwed. Saying they didn't compete in other sports is such BS. What about WC, Stebbins, Fairborn. Their "other" sports were as good or as bad as Trotwood. The Rams were kicking the big boys butts in the money makers and Parents were concerned that the Rams were going to fill up the all league slots and Little Johnnie was going to be honorable mention. Sad.

Regardless, the tornado, the pandemic and the loss of a league affiliation has done a lot to that district and the community in general. They have lost some kids to other districts that in the past would have been good players for them. They are going through a rebuilding stage and hopefully the will kick the funk and be back to the stage they were just a few years ago. It's going to be a tough one Friday night because Mo Doug has re-created what he had in Trotwood and now Springfield looks ready to get over that hump. With that being said Coach Graham will have the kids playing hard, he always does that. Hoping for a competitive game with health and safety for all.

Word on the Street is that they are close to hiring a new BBALL coach. It might make a splash with the rebuilding effort!!!

Why would Greenville be in conference with Division 6 and 7 schools? Get out of here with that.

Anyway, Springfield names the score tonight.

Because, they may be big in size but athletically they fit just right in that league. Figuratively they’re D1, Atheletically, Culturally, Demographically they’re just like all Darke County schools only difference is their the biggest.

What is up with Trotwood, are they down again or is their record just a byproduct of the strength of their schedule?
As of two years ago I had mentioned that Trotwood was at a crossroads, in sports, in the building and culturally. As a result, along with the tornado, strong classes have been pulled apart and Trotwood kids are now all over the place. Almost every GWOC has a Trotwood kid, even Middletown. There’s some talent left but not as much. There now a middle of the pack to low tier team, that’s just how it goes… they will make the football playoffs but look for a 14-16 seed.
