Tough Weather for SW D2, sectional at Pipestone

No results yet, but the day started cold, 48 degrees for 8:30 tee times... by the time those groups made the turn, 15-20 sustained winds, with gusts to 30. One player told me he played his tee shot 30 yards left on the par 3, 4th hole, and finished 15 feet right of the green. expecting higher than normal scores when they are posted.

Looks like the medalist , a freshman from alter fired a 3 over 75. 3 of the 4 district qualifying are from the same league, the GCL. Alter, Fenwick, Oakwood, Badin move on the play next wednesday at Glenview.

From what I've heard from my buddies involved with Alter golf that freshman is something special. He was runner up in the state match earning first team all state honors. His name is something like David I'm forgetting it now.

Ah yes... I've heard only great things about that young gentleman. I think another kid we've gotta keep our eye on is Dylan Issler. That kid is an animal, I've heard many people compare Davis and Dylan to Jack Nicklaus and Phil Mickelson (Personally two of my favorite golfers of all time.) So, I'm very interested to see where these guys will go next year and even beyond high school and possibly into the pros.
