What is your top ten right know in Division 1?
Mine is as follows:

1. St. X
2. Mason
3. Sycamore
4. Princeton
5. Loveland
6. Lakota West
7. Turpin
8. Walnut Hills

After that it is a tossup to me... but all these are off the top of my head and i could very well be missong someone

What are your thoughts?
 
 
sorry i should have clarified... the poll was more for cincinnatai area teams... i dont know enough of the oither teams outside of the area
 
yea my worries about west lies in their bottom three courts... i don't think they have the depth to beat loveland and princeton on doubles or third singles


and on a side note i think middletown should be slid into the fourth spot i completely forgot about them
 
i agree. i play for wyoming. we lost 3-2 to princeton first match of the year...our first singles blew it and we did not have our regular first dubs team in the line-up...both lost in close matches...princeton is good this year, but over-rated as of right now...
 
if we're discussing depth... have you seen middletown's doubles teams? they won't beat any doubles teams from the schools that you have in the top ten. how can you slide them in that high?
 
concerning middletown thats my mistake you are correct in saying that they have nothing past their singles

but with princeton last time i looked in the paper i saw lonegran and ferchen playing first doubles... i know lee has been moving around but i still think that princeton is deeper than west

I guess princeton hasnt been performing as well as i thought... also i think west may be a bit high and what up with them getting a first place vote??
 
Wilmington just beat middletown 3-2 last night. I think Wilmington deserves a lot of credit for their program. They are a tiny farm school with about 800 kids in the whole school. It's really amazing that they are in the top 10 for cicny.
 
lakota west had a really good match vs. sycamore. west was 2 games away from winning. who do turpin and walnut hills have.

turpin has knoll at one... after that they have decent depth but no outstanding players... frick at three and a decent first doubles

walnut has both lerners and whitman at their singles but past that i have no clue
 
i did underestimate wests depth... i was just going by what they had in years past but the freshman they got at three added a lot to the team
 
obviously lw is not top ten if they lost to elder. even if they decided to put broda at one and put wyatt at one doubles. if they cant beat them with any lineup than they dont deserve to be in flight a. this team is a one man team with just wyatt. they have no depth and it showed yesterday losing 3-2 to elder. lw just got some respect this year and they have just ruined it by being too cocky. play every match seriously
 
i would definitely say we still deserve to be in the top five, we were two games away from beating both sycamore and mason. and yesterday martin burbank, our third singles played second singles and had 3 match points against their number two. our team is still deeper than the 6-10 teams buckeyefan has up their. i think we should be undefeated, but ---- happens. our third singles is a freshman and he's solid but has a huge mental problem that he can't block out when the pressure hits him. he won the first set against the sycamore three 6-0 and the first set against the mason three 6-1 so he's obviously talented, but we didnt get cocky, we were just tryin to mix it up and have some fun. by the way taylor is playing very solid this season and is undefeated so far so were not a 1 man team.
 
yes wyatt is right west deserves to be in the top 5 no doubt... they may slip a spot because of the loss to elder but the coaches will see that the only reason there was a loss was becasue of the screwy lineup. In my mind there are 5 real good teams in the area after that it is a total tossup with maybe middletown being the next best
 
wow!!!

i like how sycamore beat west again precisely because zupan doesn't like to put that extra ball away and everyone knows he hates playing anybody who is willing to float the ball up twenty feet in the air like a bunch of wusses. we all know thats why he loses and thats exactly what reinhart and habash and sharastani did to him. talk about mental wouldn't you agree wyatt....?
 
reinhart does that with skill though, he's damn quick on his feet and will make anyone f------ work for each and every point. if martin burbank don't wanna work, he ain't gonna move on and help his team. Luckily he won't see reinhart next year.
 
can't completely blame martin though. i'm a doubles player at west and we all know that the bottom two courts are as much to blame as martin. all three courts have been close in the duel matches but never broke through. so lay off martin a little bit... even if he is a headcase haha
