Archbold’s football team officially defeated Defiance Tinora 15-14 on Friday night, but video and photo evidence has surfaced on social media showing Tinora’s last-second 48-yard field goal attempt clearing the crossbar.
The kick was ruled no good on the field, giving Archbold the victory.
Here is video from NWO Sports:

Here is another angle.

The Ohio High School Athletic Association generally does not overturn calls on the field.

That kick was GOOD! The officials should be fired. Brutal.
Tinora should think about some legal action. Clear video proof on the last play of the game.
Not gonna happen.

And what we saw here will get worse before it starts to get better.
They got the call right.

The second video shows the ball going under the upright. Slow it down and it is clear as day. People nearby said the same thing.

Watch Video from behind and pause it right when ball is on TOP of the bar.
It was Good. Close, but good. Refs missed a call. Life goes on. We need officials and I'm sure they will not be happy with their call when they see it. But it is not as easy as it looks. Even thavoice misses a call every now and then.

I concur. Video from behind and to the side looks like it went under the crossbar.and also.by the reaction of those nearby.

Correct call.
Those kids are Archbold kids and they were upset because they saw it go over. kids have great eyes, they changed their reaction only after the officials signaled no good.

The kick was good paused the video as football went over the crossbar. But this is no worse than the ND - NIU game when the zebras shortchanged NIU spotting the football short of the 1st down than not restarting the clock after the review of the spot was over.

I never comment on officials as I know they have a difficult job. But in this case I will Tinora got homered if u know what I mean

It is terrible that a missed call ended the game and obviously impacted the game BUT it is a judgment call. We cannot overturn judgment calls otherwise referees lose their ability to make such calls. Rule interpretations can be challenged but not judgment calls. We see judgment calls nearly every play such as holding, ball spotting, catch vs no catch etc. It is just part of the game. Again it is unfortunate that this call was missed but it is the reality of football and life. None of us are perfect. Go coach em up next week and use this as a football and life lesson.

Why I think we should have nets put up to catch extra points & field goals. I'd go even one step crazier & make a top crossbar.

Not trying to change the world here, but wouldn't the officials have a better look at these things if they positioned themselves a few steps behind the crossbar?
Back judge is responsible for the crossbar. You are correct on that as well, they seemed way too far up from the video

I watched it frame by frame. It went under.
I didn't go under. We were standing back there near the goal post and it cleared it no doubt. Even several Archbold fans who was standing back there with those kids said it went over. I'm not sure what you're looking at

The kick was 100% good, clearly goes over the crossbar. The mechanics for officials on field goals have always been bad but this is inexcusable to miss. The OHSAA won't do anything because they're a terrible organization. Next week some other squad of goofballs will cost another team a game somewhere else in the state. Rinse and repeat.

The Back Judge is responsible for the crossbar. No better place than underneath it at the upright.

Furthermore, standing underneath the upright gives each offical a perfect view of whether or not the ball passed completely inside the upright extended.

And your criticisms of officiating are both unfair and uncalled for. We are facing a shortage of officials in nearly every sport. These officials are under paid, abused by fans and often have long trips right after working their day jobs. We may soon face situations where games are cancelled due to officiating shortages, best case scenario smaller than normal sized crews. Lay off of them and understand mistakes are part of the game for everyone involved.

Bad officials are worse than no officials, I'll take a 3 man crew if all 3 can enforce even the basic rules competently

Obviously it wast 100-percent or there’d have been no controversy. Also, to the comment made by fbrox… it isn’t like baseball as far as a judgment call goes. Judgment means it’s up to the refs decision on a bang bang play. In this case, it appears it was good. Those standing behind it proved that with their reactions. The ref even watched it go over and I think he was stunned and just made the wrong call whether on purpose or accident

Agreed, however, this is bad...it looks like the officials simply took their eye off the ball, supposing it wasn't going to make it long enough....inexcusable.

Be careful what you wish for. Imagine a three man crew, one in the backfield, one one the sideline and one expected to cover the entire passing game. You won’t like that at all; it will be an invitation to hold and push off every play.
