Texas HS playoffs update

I was talking to my good friend last night (The Ref, remember him?) We were talking about how unexcited we were about the finals today. BORRRRRRING. he did bring up a few points about Judson. Did they have a bunch of early injuries or kids ineligible the first part of the season.
But to answer SLC Dads ridiculous posts,
1 - Take the 4 teams from the finals in TX, and line them up against the top 4 from Cali, Fla, or Ohio this year and Tx gets killed.
2- A healthy SLC (pitifull excuses) does not play with anyone. Get over it. The ref was right.

I have watched both games. Katy is not the 4th best team in the country. Texas Hgh School football is pretty unimpressive this year. These idiots on FSN are true homers pumping up these teams and of all things, Trinity's coach. That is pretty laughable and pretty self explanatory.

I have seen nothing from ST.X that makes them look any different than Katy of this year.

The only teams that look impressive on TV are the ones that blow you away with D1 athletes Like MNW and Booker T Washington.

MNW is probably a legit 2 touchdown favorite over SLC. Katy is also probably a legit 2 touchdown favorite over SLC.

TX is ALWAYS strong in FOOTBALL. That is something you need to get over Morning Woody.
 
I watched both games yesterday ( one in person) and I think Katy is a top five team. The other three finalists are definitely 2-4 TD's worse than Katy and would be thumped by top national teams. Katy's RB Dean is a big time player who had committed to UCLA. He will be a very productive D-1 back and might even be an NFL caliber back. Their QB has a live enough arm to be signing with Hawaii. The have a two tall WR's who made some nice catches. I was surprised at how the P-vill D-line was able to presssure them in the first half but Katy made adjustments and flat kicked their butts in the second half. Anyone who doesn't think Katy is a top high school team either has a personal axe to grind or doesn't know squat about high school football. Overall I'd have to say this was not a banner year in terms of great teams in Texas. Lot's of good teams but only one great one.

Go look at the time I posted that. It was halftime. The second half was a different story. Katy looked pretty darn good. That running back is real good. Now that is a legitimate D-1 back (tre Newton, take notes) and the QB was putting the ball on the money. He also is gonna be a big time D-1 QB (Reilly Dodge,take notes) I jumped the gun on the post about Katy. I think they are actually really good. I liked the part when the coach zipped up and got the gatorade and they got him again when he took off the jacket. Where is Dean going to school?

Aundre Dean is going to UCLA and he most likely will light it up.
TX appears to be the front runner in putting out legit college and NFL running backs.

I think Katy is right up there with the top teams in the nation. I am not saying they could beat MNW or Booker T Washington. But I think they are very close to ST. X and DLS. Katy is the best team in TX this year but they are not one of those special teams. -
