It was reported today in the Cincinnati Enquirer that Jeff Tanner has committed to Miami University. Does anyone want to elaborate? It was reported a while back that Tanner committed to Wake Forest. What's the Deal?

Any "commitment" by a football player before the Feb. 3, 2010 National Letter of Intent signing day is strictly verbal and not binding on the player.
Any written offer from a school is binding on the school for 14 days or until after the NLI signing period, which ends April 1, 2010, but the athlete is free to change his mind until he signs the National Letter of Intent.

Jeff and his parents took his official visit a few weeks back to Wake and while there, decided he didn't feel like he fit in. He was one of the few kids from up north, its a small school, it just didn't fit like he felt it did back in the summer. He had several MAC schools interested, Miami offered on the Monday he got back and he committed.
