T or F: NASCAR Fans also listen to Country Music???

Well basically testing a “theory” or maybe “superstition”? For any real NASCAR fans on the website: Just out of curiosity; True or False: NASCAR and Country Music go hand in hand? Or if you’re a fan of one, you’re also a fan of the other? Was reading like this “NASCAR biography” of Kyle Petty: He mentions that in his book: That racing fans do tend to enjoy country music as well?

So basically, am I maybe “stereotyping” or assuming things about people? Or is it really true? Do NASCAR and country music really do go hand in hand with each other???

Been a NASCAR fan all my life. I enjoy country music the most, today's country music needs to take a good hard look in the mirror about what country music is. But, I'd say its a stereotype. I'm willing to bet very few of the drivers listen to country music. NASCAR has fallen real hard since its height in the 90s, and is looking outside of its rural sterotype of a sport in some aspects. They raced an exhibition race at the LA Coliseum for 3 years and had entertainers from other genres come perform. They race a street course in Chicago. This year they racing in Mexico. Despite all of this, there are some attempts to get back to its grassroots of racing, such as racing an exhibition race at Bowman Grey Stadium to start this year and Rockingham for the All Star Race. I don't know if NASCAR has an identity crisis, but there will always be the stereotype that it is a rural sport, cheered on by a bunch of hillbilly country music fans. The reality is, the drivers come from California, Nevada, Arizona, New Hampshire, Mexico, Austrailia along with North Carolina, Georgia and Florida. Its not a regionalized sport, and probably has a more diverse fan base than people might think.
