What makes you think Princeton jumps from 7th to 2nd? transfers?
My sons JV team played them (our JV was 10 freshmen and 3 sophomores) and we lost by 2 or 3 runs. there isnt much in the pipeline?

Mason may lose Hanely and Bilo but dont forget the name Bakhit from Mason kid is a STUD and of he is fully healthy should be in the top of their rotation.

East will have Wilburn returning (beat mason last year for their only GMC loss) along w/Logan Cole. Also #in the GMC BA reinhart will be behind the dish.

I personally see it like this but what do I know

1) East
2) Mason
3) oak hills
4) Fairfield
5) West
6) Princeton
7) Hamilton
8) Colerain
9) Middletown
10) Sycamore

West has a lot of returnees. And they have the best set of pitchers in the league. Mason will always be tough. Princeton was tough this past season and return what I feel is the best catcher in the league in Wyatt Shaw. And two of the best infielders in Josh Davis and Manny Sanchez. They return their best arm in Junior Vasquez and seem ready to make a jump in the GMC. But as always, everyone in the GMC will be tough. I feel it's top to bottom the best baseball conference in the state.

Don't want to get too into the weeds, because I do know a lot the players in the league from travel ball, but here's what I think (obvious caveat is that I don't know who has hurt their arm, which seems to be an alarming number of pitchers every year anymore):

1. Mason: Even though they lost a lot, they were a dominating state championship team and are just going to reload. Top two in the rotation in the younger Hanley and Visconti should be extremely good.

2. Lakota East: 5 starters back out of their 9 and return all but 58 innings on their staff, and the staff should be very good. Wouldn't surprise me if they beat Mason for the league title, but Mason is the champ until they knock them off.

3. Lakota West: Return pretty much their whole team, but I don't think they quite have the pitching depth that Mason and East will have.

4. Princeton: Going to have a sensational lineup, but the pitching just isn't there.

5. Oak Hills: Pretty much just like Princeton. Really good lineup and not a lot of pitching.

6. Hamilton: Lost a couple of really good players from last year, but should be solid.

7. Fairfield: Return most of their lineup, but it didn't hit last year. Pitching is OK.

8. Sycamore: Won't be great and not sure they will hit much, but they return a lot.

9. Colerain: Another team that just couldn't hit last year, and they lost their two best pitchers.

10. Middletown: They lost all of their best players and are not going to have any pitching.

very good assessment!
I would not sleep on oak hills being the dark horse in the GMC. Sowders knows his stuff! IF the parents allow him to coach the team and run the program they could be a top GMC team!

I played for Sowders waaaaaay back when during a summer. Very good coach and just a hilarious person. Biggest thing I think holding Oak Hills back from the top teams is nobody on their staff (that I know of) is a high velocity guy (85+) and they hit zero HR last year with a home field that is relatively hitter-friendly. Not to say you can't be a really good team without either of those things, but, even at the high school level, baseball has become a power vs. power pitcher-hitter battle, and Oak Hills doesn't have a lot of either. I like a lot of their junior class though.

The sun rises in the east and Mason will win the GMC. Why? Because they develop their players in house. If they can they are probably hitting and pitching in their tunnels already. Their coaches know how the boys did in the summer, the hitting league is getting organized and oh yeah.. it's one of the biggest schools in Ohio and filled top to bottom with talent. Can't pick on their coach anymore because he finally won state. East has a new coach, so that is a wild card. They could be great or they could not be great. West's coach doesn't know what happened with his boys this summer and will see them at the tryouts in January. West has a ton of talent but I have zero confidence that their potential will be reached because it hasn't yet under this current staff. But I am intrigued with Princeton, a good coach could catch lightening in a bottle.

He is a good dude for sure! My nephew played for him at Harrison and he has ALWAYS been a no BS , cut right to the chase kinda guy! He and his Brother Shane have coached Football at Taylor for awhile now.

I was selfishly hoping he would have applied for the Taylor job when Helfer stepped down. But I would think with Taylor being in the middle of a "rebuild" and on a "fill in" coach when long timer Hannum stepped down , he wasn't wanting to get into all of that with where he was in his career.

It will be interesting to see if Sowders can flip some of the Oak Hills kids that have played for the west stars or Yeager , over to Future Stars kids?

Mason, much like Moeller teams, will reload and be the powerhouse we have become accustomed to of late. They do bring back some great arms...

Someone said that they can't pick on the coach... I beg to differ. Not sold on him, even though he won state. I think he has been outcoached or has under coached games that I have seen them play over the years. Again, it's just my opinion but a lot of GMC coaches feel the same way.

I don't have a dog in the fight, but to put Princeton 2nd in GMC is a far reach according to GMC stats. The site shows their best finish recently was 4th in 2023, and then you have to travel back over a decade to 2008 where they finished 4/5th. The best finish on the site is 2007/2006 where they had a 2nd place GMC team. Odds say that's not happening, but that's why you play the games!

I agree with you. Mason's coach has a history of mismanaging big games. But dang, he won the State this year. I am off his back at least for 2025.

They have some talent and if they can keep a decent coach for a few years, they can be competitive. I know it is a big if, but Princeton did have a fellow got to OSU last year. he struggled as a freshman but Iam interested to see what happens with the new coach
