Sean Clifford leads the #10 ranked Nittany Lions over Iowa 17-12 in a hard fought Big 10 nationally televised road game.
It was a subpar game for Clifford as the Hawkeyes linemen were harassing him all night.
His final line: 12 for 24 for 117 yards and 1 TD; 16 carries for 52 yards
On the year: 102 for 159 (64%) for 1,560 yards and 13 TDs and 2 INTs; 59 carries for 252 yards (4.3ypc) and 2 TDs

Penn State remaining schedule: Michigan, Michigan State, Minnesota, Indiana, Ohio State and Rutgers

LB Justin Hilliard with a key tackle for loss on Wisconsin QB Coan at a critical point early in the game of the #3 Buckeye 38-7 victory.

QB Sean Clifford 18 for 32 for 189 yards and 4 TDs in #6 Penn State's 28-7 win over Michigan State.

It was great to see Justin Hilliard make an outstanding play (and start the game) after all of the injuries he has suffered during his career. To be on the field and making that kind of play was a testament to his mental toughness, grit and determination. Those skills will serve him well in life way beyond his career as a football player. The Justin Hilliard of today is a greater role model for future Bombers then a Justin Hilliard All American at Ohio State. Very few Bombers can match his athleticism and talent, but all can strive to match his determination and mental toughness.

Looking forward to the Penn State - Ohio State game November 23rd and the possibility of a Hilliard-Clifford collision.
The weekend prior, November 16th it's Penn State vs Indiana and it could be 2 GCL QBs vs each other in a Big 10 game.

How about this.
Wisconsin and Penn State don't play each other in the regular season this year or next but could meet in the Big Ten Championship game.
Would it be wrong to hope Coan gets injured and we might see former teammates Wolf vs Clifford in a Big 10 game?
How often do you see 2 QBs from the same high school oppose each other in a Big 10 game???

Yes it is wrong to wish someone getting injured....but I understand how cool it would be to see two former teammates face off. However I am not sure that Wolf would get the nod over freshmen Metz who is the highest rated recruit at QB ever for Wisconsin.

I was watching the Washington-Utah game this afternoon and saw a player from the Don Bosco team that shutdown StX in the 2016 opener
Washington WR Terrell Bynum had 7 catches for 68 yards vs Utah....he's the player that had the 98 yard TD run vs X to start the Bosco scoring.
Northwestern WR Berkeley Holman had a huge game vs X with 3 catches for 130 yards and 2 TDs.
The Bosco QBs are now both backups in college.....Re'al Mitchell is backup at Iowa State and Joey Yellen is at Arizona State.
Bosco's highly touted offensive lineman Wyatt Davis (6'4" 315lb), starts for Ohio State as a sophomore......he'll be a 1st round NFL pick
Leading the Bosco defense was safety Stephan Blaylock who is the leading tackler at UCLA this season

As we know that Bomber team finished the season 5-5 yet went on to win state guided by Sean Clifford now at PSU.
I remember seeing Cliff on the sidelines in a boot in the second half of the Bosco game while Chase Wolf (Wisconsin) replaced him.
Clifford's career at StX was riddled with injuries including a series of concussions that began his sophomore season with the late hit out of bounds in the Moeller game. Then that foot injury his senior year nagged him all season. Amazing what he was able to do in the post-season and now continues in Happy Valley.

Besides the success of Clifford it appears that Stallworth and Hayden Specht are having the most successful seasons. Those two are both among the leading tacklers on their teams. Sean Prophit was having a good year but apparently has missed last few games due to injuries. Kiesseling has gotten good playing time for a freshmen.

Hayden's first collegiate interception helped secure the Great Danes victory over New Hampshire this weekend

Recap

Tyler Oedekoven’s fourth-quarter touchdown pass gave the University at Albany football team the lead, and Hayden Specht’s first career interception helped the Great Danes hold onto a pivotal 24-17 win over New Hampshire.

The victory sends UAlbany into next week’s regular-season finale with at least a share of second place in the CAA and bolsters its FCS playoff case.

On a sunny but cold afternoon at Casey Stadium, the Great Danes honored 17 seniors in a ceremony prior to kickoff. Then, Karl Mofor ran for two touchdowns and the defense came up with a pair of interceptions to help deliver the outgoing class a victory.

The game was tied at 17 in the fourth quarter when Jeff Undercuffler found Oedekoven wide open down the left sideline for a 32-yard touchdown. The play put UAlbany ahead, 24-17, with 8:01 left.

Four minutes later, New Hampshire was deep in UAlbany territory, threatening to tie the game. But on a 4thand 10 from the Great Danes’ 23, Specht stepped in front of a pass and ran it back 30 yards.

This coming Saturday at noon eastern time it's #9 Penn State (9-1) at #2 Ohio State (10-0)
Clifford is now 157 of 259 for 2,271 yards 21 TDs and 6 INTs
Having a healthy season for a change :)
His sophomore season at X: concussion Week 5 vs Moeller missed 4 games, concussion in Week 11 vs Colerain, missed Week 12
His senior season at X: foot injury Week 1 vs Bosco missed 3 games, reinjured Week 8 vs Warren Central missed 3 games, returned Week 12 vs Colerain for state title run

Needed Hayden's skill set last Friday vs Elder.
He would have picked off 3 or 4 of those wounded ducks chucked up by the Elder QB

Likely will see a Hilliard-Clifford collision this Saturday at the Shoe.
Kudos to Justin for coming back from pre-season Achilles injury in this his 5th and final season as a Buckeye

Chase Wolf getting air time last night as part of the QB group on the sideline at Wisconsin. It will be interesting to see if he ends of getting playing time at Wisconsin. The current starter Coan will be a senior next year and the freshmen Mertz was highly touted. Coan struggled last night so it will be interesting to see how things play out for next year. With the transfer portal becoming so popular would Wolf take advantage of it if he doesn't earn the starting nod at some point?
