Final Comments:
The coaching staff feels like the top three pitchers of Pezzone, Grzyb, and Laczko can give us an opportunity to beat any team we play. Olindo Pezzone has been as high 92 mph on the mound this offseason and has been recorded with an exit velocity as high as 95. Alec Grzyb has hit 88 mph off the mound. Chance Laczko has sat in the low 80s with a max of 85. Pezzone will play CF when not pitching. Grzyb will be a utility player based off of whose pitching. Laczko will also sure up the infield at shortstop. Seniors Ronnie Leonard, Drew Day, and Gino Callabrette will give the Cats punch in the middle of the lineup. The seniors will also add pitching depth. Sophomore Grady Moore will be an excellent defensive outfielder for Struthers. Moore will be asked to give the team a spark at the bottom of the order. The team lacks proven varsity depth and Grzyb will be asked to share catching duties at times instead of playing his more natural positions.
