It sounds as if Simpson pitched another great game against Westerville South, striking out 11 batters. One question though, how does Simpson pick up a Save in a 9-0 ball game?

I think Jessica is outstanding but I was under the impression that Jackson managed 4 hits. I cannot see Hoover losing many games with her on the mound and all the returning players. They are clearly a superb team.

Jessica Simpson gave up 4 hits in the Jackson game...Erinn Wright and Jen Moore each had two.

Westerville South is a very solid team...they are very much ranked where they deserve to be ranked. People at the game called it everything from a pitching duel to an off night of hitting. Call it what you will, but it was a great game. Both teams showed up not intimidated, ready for a battle...and they got one.

UPDATE: Hoover picked up its 6th win of the season. Jessica Simpson picked up another win over Sparkman (from Harvest,Alabama...went 60-9 last season) 8-0. Hoover's final scheduled game against Oak Park & River Forest HS (from Oak Park, Illinois...went 31-5 last season) was cancelled due to inclimate weather...that's Ohio for you!

Westerville South - NCH game was a classic. both pitchers pitched a great game with NCH's Simpson giving up only two hits while striking out 7 Cats batters, South's Pitcher - Byers strikes out 12 and gives up only one hit, I personally would love to see a rematch in warmer weather -- Maybe in Late May! --- I think South hit the ball hard at times and NCH made some nice plays.Byers kept NCH's bats pretty quiet for the game a single up the middle was the difference in the ball game.A dropped third out by the second baseman cost the WS cats a chance for A chance to go to the ITB, Was a great game and wish Simpson and gang the best of luck the rest of the way!

Simpson struck out 11 and I think Byers had 10 K's...either way they did extremely well. Good Luck to all the girls on the Westerville South team.

This was the best High school game I have watched. Interesting that I had Westerville with 3 hits and Hoover with 2,. Westerfield starting off hitting the ball hard. Everyone stated this would come down to who ever made the first mistake. Walk, followed by a stolen base ( error she was out but the fielder dropped the ball). Passed ball put runner at third. Easy fly ball to second and it spun out of her glove. Only run of the game. Both pitchers were excellent. The movement on the ball was amazing. You could tell when the ball was hit it spun off the bat. I think that is what caused the error. Many foul balls due to the spin over the back stop. Both of these teams had great, but cold fans, class act by both teams. I see why you would rank them 1 and 2.
