St. Xavier Football 2024

Man the media loves bashing us Catholics, but in this case they have their villain
He gave them their narrative and the first 4 words of the headline do it.
Whether I like the headline or not at least this is the proper journalistic approach of filing a report.
There is no "sources say" or speculation.....it is a report as a result of an arrest and provides the facts that led to that arrest

I'm constantly amazed at the behavior of grown men. Dude is 45 years old and still thinks he's bullet proof.

He shouldn't survive this, but the way the world works now, I'm not so sure.

At least with the this journalist's report at FOX they decided to just target Archbishop Moeller rather than all Catholics lol
Mighty Moe got them to replace the mug shot with a pic of the school building

Such teachable moments when it comes to the the media and their reporting

A person is responsible for their own actions......but they do reflect on the institution.
How Moeller handles it is on them.
At this point they're sending everyone with questions to the Archdiocese

Latest update is that he is on administrative leave.....didn't say if it was paid or not.
They did contact former Moeller head football coach John Rodenberg who provided this statement
"He’s done a lot for Moeller and I’m not judging anybody, you know, and we all do things, but he’s really put in a lot of time and really, he’s really done a lot for Moeller over the last few years"
And this gem from head basketball coach Carl Kremer....
"I want to assure you that we are committed to maintaining our integrity and values as we work through this situation."
Thanks coaches!

Integrity and values at Moeller
Mayday mayday, Reality check badly needed

Hey, it isn't like he is a married varsity football coach having an affair with a married athletic department secretary. That only could happen at a Cincinnati Jesuit High School - and the coach got to keep his job!

Atleast it was conceptual among two adults (not morally right) and wasn't a sexual assault (criminal) in a school concession stand on numerous occasions over a five year span. Wonder who Prez was who didn't believe allegations until there was taped recorded evidence?

Glass houses, Vox Crusada

Amazing the history of the coach as a teacher in Cincinnati has never seen the light of day.

There's 1 small problem.
Your comparing something that happened to something that didn't happen

If you can find one court filing, or one piece of evidence other then idiots on here with rumors or your next door neighbors best friends cousin told you that what you are saying is true I will listen to you but until then just accept the fact that Moeller is run by a bunch of idiots

DoubleHelix is a Moeller fan, isn't he? Surprised he has nothing to say about this...

Wow...the St. X moral high ground at its best. Walking on water as usual.
Let's not start clutching pearls over there on Montgomery Road.
While I'm not about kicking a man when he's down, I'm certainly not about using unsubstantiated rumors of the past as the foundation of a defense (pronounced “deflection”) for some bad press. I'm sure it stings - one of your own making a really bad decision that has put the institution in the negative spotlight yet again and now you have to watch the rest of the skeletons come rolling out of the closet.
When you typically shout from the rooftops proclaiming world domination and then have to retreat into the shadows and remove yourself from your favorite social media platform, people are going to take shots. You reap what you sow.
Hopefully the "he was drugged" narrative will spin the right way and you'll be back up and running with your flag planting across the globe in no time.

Word is the Harvey? twins were shadowing at McNick recently. I guess the Purcell coach moving on from his position has them looking at alternatives.

Tim Swafford picks junior CB Brayden Reilly as Elite Prospect for 2024

Reilly a likely 2 way player this season WR and CB that will start to get D1 offers

A little off topic, but how the hell is X 4-12 in baseball with all the resources, kids that they have?

I know X has never been a "baseball school", but that's hard to comprehend. Any thoughts?

I think ReLoad mentioned the roster is made up of football and basketball players and not too many "baseball-only" guys. Plus, someone else said there were 2-3 season ending injuries to key guys.
But, your point is a good one. 1500-1600 boys with lots of resources, nice facilities, etc.
Is baseball struggling with numbers due to volleyball, lacrosse, rugby not only at X but elsewhere?

Definitely struggling, but got 3 or 4 sophomores starting on varsity and had two season ending injuries (SS and P). Makes you feel better, looks like St. X JV took 2 out of 3 vs Moe in baseball. Coach D is a good man and understands what St. X is all about, so he deserves time to get program back up and running.

It wasn't long ago St. won the GCL in baseball (2021). Too bad the 2020 season was canceled thanks to COVID. St. X had one the best pitching staffs in the state (Hudelpohl-UK, Jones-Xavier, Majik-Dayton) and a few other D1 baseball players in Hundley (Central Michigan) and Thomas (Georgia Tech).

A state title or a final four run in 2020 could've have drastically changed the direction or perception of the program. Also, Badin was loaded in 2020 and will always feel for those kids for not having a senior season.

Agree- With the draw, numbers and resources they have, St. X can be an “anything-they-want-to-be school”!
