Now that the season has officially started we can finally begin to talk about the matches instead of all this other junk. Use this thread as a place to post big matches, surprisings scores, and other revelations as the spring 09 season unfolds in cincinnati and dayton
 
 
:stirthepot: I have seen Loveland and they are a very good team. They could easily be ranked anywhere from 2-4 in the city. They play a top notch schedule and have a solid 5 players that rotate between singles and doubles without losing much in anyway they choose to go. It takes a good team effort to beat them.
 
Well i don't know much about columbus teams but feel free to post too.

As for loveland they lost a tough 3 2 match today to east. It came down to second doubles and loveland's really under performed, but apparently their other regular at second doubles is out right now and that may have cost them the match. I feel like they may not lose a match for the rest of the season... until they come up against x in the team state
 
if you think loveland is deep, wait until you see sycamore. i'm not hyping us at all since no one is picking us to win, but we have a good team-minded attitude and will constantly crank out 3-2 wins. the key point about loveland is what you said, their doubles under performed. this does not happen for the sycamore kids. they come to play every match and we know that, in order to win, both dubs HAVE TO WIN to give us singles guys a chance to pull through. we may not have the best overall players, but our team is very, very solid so when you play us, get ready for an all out team effort at every position and don't be surprised if we win 3-2. East, West, Loveland, maybe even X.
 
I really dont see you beating loveland. Your strongest court is first doubles by the looks of it which is lovelands as well and they are much more talented than jungerwirth/ maxwell. I also cant see you winning at second or third singles... I mean its good that you are confident in your team but thinking that you could possibly beat x is a joke. They may be down but they are still the class of the area
 
Wow Wyatt must be in top form right now... I wonder if anyone will be able to challenge him in the area. I saw mueck play and i don't think he will be able to at this point
 
Cincinnati teams are down this year. Sycomore, your team is not that good. St X is best in D1. They are pretty deep. In D2 it will be wyoming or seven hills. both teams are good all they way down.
 
wyoming beat summit yesterday badly so summit is out of the question. I think wyoming will take it because sevin hills singles cant beat wyomings. Seven hills 3 may be able to beat wyomings but im not sure if seven hills doubles are as good. however you know they will come out fighting. THey do meet eachother though next week

That is a suprising score. I bet peter kobelt is a little rusty. He is a pretty good bball player and the season ended just last month. Congrats to diaz but it will be different in a month. I bet you beat diaz pretty easilt wyatt but pete will be tough by the time you see him at state.

D1 X then a bunch of avg teams lakota east and west mason sycamore. St x b team would be close to top 5. D2 seven Hills and Wyoming are a toss up then IH , Summit and CCD round out that top five.
 
i agree. However i think east could be dangerous bc their singles are so good. Their dubs are not a threat so if a team can take one of the singles the will win the match. For D2 i also think that wyoming and seven hills will be a close match that will come down to doubles and first singles. then its IH summit and ccd. so really the only flip from the previous years is IH dropping to 3

Someone needs to prove they are better than IH though. They will not lay down for anyone. They have owned cincinnati for 10 years or more. ---- they won like 6 or 7 state team titles in the last some odd years.
 
That is true for the CHL with wyoming. the big thing they have there though is there is also pressure on ih to not lose and ih is very young which could be bad or good. Seven hills did take ih last year though
 
Yea know that i see that max is back for wyoming i will have to give the edge to them in d2.

As for d1 after east beat west last night it is clear they are the second best team behind x... but there is no way they could play any closer than 3 2 with them. As for teams that follow them dont sleep on loveland...
 
flight A should be really competitive. THerer are a lot of very good first singles players. Wyatt should win that though unless mueck comes up big. doubles wise though X should take both and from there it should be a fight for second
 
Great match for Zach. He's a great player and now believes he can beat wyatt. That could make a difference down the road. Plus nobody likes Lippertt. Be nice if Mueck showed him a little humble pie at state.
