Saints Violate NFL Rules

This is actually a big deal and will get some folks into some serious trouble, they are talking draft picks and suspensions. Paying $s for injuries, not good.

Not real worried about this. It's nothing new and I seriously doubt players were head hunting for extra $100.

I'd only take issue with this if Greg Williams (and or the Saints staff) was advocating dirty hits, or saw that his players started playing dirty as a result of the bounty program and did nothing about it. If they simply chose to reward guys for clean big hits, some of which resulted in a player leaving the game, then I see nothing extremely abhorrent about it.

I really do not care if a player was head hunting as long as it was legal because they were going to get hit either way, and you can never prove when they are head hunting. So the players are not going to get in trouble or at least they shouldn't.

But, if you are a head coach in the NFL and you know your players are doing something that is violating NFL rules that can come back to bite your franchise in the butt then it is your job to stop it.

Or at least tell them not to do it in the facilities or around other coaches.

Head hunting and getting some cash when you hurt someone are not the same. If a DE or LB hurts a QB on a clean hit, he would still get the money. They weren't head hunting any more than their job requires, yet they still got the "bounty". Happenstance doesn't mean intent.

Man, I couldn't possibly care less about this story, yet it's all ESPN talked about for days until the Manning story. Thank you, Peyton and Irsay.
