Revere 1 Barberton 0

What was most interesting was how Revere's players responded after being "accidentally" hit by pitches.

Revere's pitcher came back and struck out the side with pinpoint control, a fantastic change-up and blazing speed.

Revere's catcher, who was also HBP, later powered a single into RF. A two-base error on the right fielder allowed her to go to 3b. She then scored the winning run a couple of pitches later.

It's sad to see a team resort to throwing at the opposing batters to try to make something happen...quite a lesson to teach high school age kids.

I wasnt there so I cant say for sure. However, the Barberton pitcher's mom posts on Yappi regularly and from what I have seen her post, I cant believe she would allow anyone to force that kind of coaching on her daughter. Maybe, just maybe, she was losing control having pitched three consecutive days. Maybe the number of innings just cought up to her. Again, I wasnt there, but the Barberton coach just never came off as being that kind of guy.

Anyway, congrats to the young lady on throwing a no hitter:thumb:

During the 2006 Revere at Barberton game, the coach yelled out to his pitcher to hit Lines while she was batting. In front of all the players, fans and umpires (who did nothing).

She had the class not to do it at that time.

Could have been accidental yesterday, but she had no other control problems whatsoever. And it is certainly coincidental that it was Revere's #4 batter and pitcher that got beaned yesterday.

fastpitch....I wasn't there but is it possible Hrycyk was throwing a screwball and maybe your batter was looking outside corner ? Just a guess, but I've seen that haappen more than a few times. Also another ? about Revere...why isn't Mitchell catching anymore? Saw her last year and thought she had the makings of a real star behind the dish.

As Lisa's mom - and yes, I say that with all the pride in the world - I will say the Lady Magics Coaches have not in any way "coached" her or any other pitcher on the team to hit a batter on ANY team - and the statement that I would not tolerate it is exactly correct.

WITH THAT SAID - and this being my final comment on this game - it's my understanding Zada did a great job pitching and in fact struck Lisa out each time she was at the plate. Zada is a quality pitcher and has never been one to underestimate. Kudos to her for having such a fantastic game and good luck to her the remainder of the season and into college.

fparkfan...I don't think that is what happened, but it could have.

Mitchell is filling several roles on the team and having a lot of fun her senior year. I don't know why she isn't catching more.
