Logan Elm Braves Shut Down Wheelersburg Varsity Pirates 3-0
The Logan Elm Braves secured a decisive 3-0 victory over the Wheelersburg Varsity Pirates on Friday, thanks to a stellar performance on the mound and timely hitting.
Mason Gentry set the tone for the Braves, starting the game and recording nine outs while allowing just two hits and zero runs over three innings. Gentry also made his presence felt at the plate, hitting a solo home run to left field in the second inning.
Kelton Bennington added to the Braves' lead with a solo home run to left field in the top of the third. Bennington finished the game 2-for-3, leading the Braves in hits.
Brady Doss started for the Pirates, surrendering two hits and one run over two innings while striking out five and walking one. However, the Pirates' offense was unable to capitalize, with Ean Conn and Doss collecting the team's only hits.
