Logan Elm-11 @ Adena-5-Softball-(Scrimmage)

Logan Elm Braves Surge Past Adena Warriors with Dominant Fourth Inning

The Logan Elm Braves softball team delivered a thrilling performance on Thursday, defeating the Adena Warriors 11-5. The Braves' seven-run fourth inning proved to be the decisive factor in the game.

Adena drew first blood in the top of the first inning, courtesy of Adelynn Nelson's solo home run to left field. However, Logan Elm quickly regained the lead in the top of the second, thanks to Maddie Adkins' single and Morgan Armold's double, which scored two runs.

The Warriors refused to back down, tying the game in the bottom of the second with a single by Marly Halcomb and a steal of home by Alexis Blankenship. Logan Elm retook the lead in the top of the third, capitalizing on an error to score one run and take a 4-3 advantage.

The Braves' offense then exploded in the fourth inning, scoring seven runs on five hits. Armold singled, scoring one run, while Maleah Gardner homered to center field, scoring three runs. Ryleigh Wolfe doubled, scoring two runs, and Brittani Lane singled, scoring one run.

Adriana Guarnieri kept the Warriors' hopes alive with a solo home run to center field in the bottom of the fifth. However, it was too little, too late, as the Braves' lead proved insurmountable.

Sadie Binkley started the game for Logan Elm, allowing two hits and three runs (one earned) over three innings, while striking out six and walking two. Allie Bossert took the mound for Adena, surrendering 13 hits and 11 runs (10 earned) over four innings, with two strikeouts and three walks. Peyton Richendollar relieved Binkley, giving up one earned run, one walk, and striking out three in two innings of work.

The Braves' offense was led by Binkley, who went 3-for-3 at the plate. Wolfe, Gardner, and Armold each drove in three runs, while Richendollar and Lucy Caplinger collected multiple hits. Kimberly Petty stole two bases, showcasing the Braves' speed and aggression on the basepaths.

For Adena, Nelson and Guarnieri formed a formidable duo, each driving in one run. Bossert led the Warriors with two hits in three at-bats.

Logan Elm will travel to Curiser-land to face Groveport-Madison on Saturday. Adena, meanwhile, will host the Fairland Dragons on Saturday
