Logan Elm Softball vs South Webster

Logan Elm Braves Edged by South Webster Jeeps in Thrilling 4-3 Contest

Braves' Late Rally Falls Short Despite Strong Pitching and Timely Hits

The Logan Elm Varsity Braves dropped a heart-wrenching 4-3 decision to the South Webster Varsity Jeeps on Tuesday, despite a valiant effort from the Braves' pitching staff and timely hits from their offense.

Early Runs Set the Tone

The game got off to a blistering start, with South Webster's Makayla Raynard slingling home a run in the top of the first to give the Jeeps an early 1-0 lead. Logan Elm quickly responded, however, as Ryleigh Wolfe grounded out to tie the game at 1-1 in the bottom of the first.

Braves Take the Lead, Jeeps Fight Back

Logan Elm took the lead in the second, capitalizing on an error to go up 2-1. The Braves' pitching staff, led by Sadie Binkley, held strong until the top of the sixth, when Kristen Stiles singled down the right field line to tie the game at 2-2.

Jeeps Seize the Lead, Braves Fall Short

South Webster seized the lead in the seventh, as Addi Claxon tripled home a run and a subsequent passed ball extended the margin to 4-2. Logan Elm refused to go quietly, but ultimately fell short in their comeback bid.

Notable Performances

Sadie Binkley led Logan Elm with three hits while also pitching three strong innings, allowing just two hits and one unearned run while striking out six. Jaiden White had a standout game for South Webster, collecting two hits and pitching five innings, surrendering four hits and two unearned runs while fanning six. Ryleigh Wolfe drove in two runs for Logan Elm on one hit, while Lauren Kaltenbach sparked South Webster's offense with two hits and two stolen bases.

The Braves will look to bounce back on Thursday when they travel to Adena for their next contest.

Teays Valley Softball vs Hilliard Davidson

The Teays Valley softball team secured a dominating 6-0 victory over Hilliard Davidson on Tuesday. Micah Mann led the charge, collecting three hits in four at bats, including a triple in the first inning and singles in the fifth and seventh innings.

Teays Valley's Offense Ignites Early

Teays Valley got on the board early, scoring on a wild pitch in the top of the first inning after Mann's triple. The team's strong offense was matched by its impressive pitching, with Alyvia Lawrentz earning the win after allowing zero hits and zero runs over four innings while striking out eight.

Strong Relief Pitching Secures Win

Avery Stratton and Ava Ackerman came on in relief, shutting down Hilliard Davidson's offense. Teays Valley's Mann, Ackerman, and Avery Mann each drove in one run, while the team amassed eight walks and stole six bases.

Next Up for Teays Valley

Teays Valley will face Dublin Coffman 3/20 heading southwest for Centerville in game one of their Cincy Tour.
