Vikings Sail to Victory as Teays Valley Overpowers Whetstone 12-0
Peyton McElfresh's strong eye at the plate led the Teays Valley to a dominating 12-0 victory over Whetstone on Thursday. McElfresh walked four times, setting the tone for a game where the Vikings collected 13 walks.
The Vikings scored early and often, with runs in the first, second, and third innings. Jayden Morrison's sacrifice fly and Brody Mann's walk contributed to the scoring in the first, while Morrison's double down the right field line sparked the Vikings' offense in the second. Brody Weiler's groundout and Morrison's sacrifice fly added to the lead in the third.

The Tigers' offense exploded in the bottom of the sixth inning, scoring six runs on five hits. Drew Thornsley's single, Chase Foster's walk, Hudson Phalin's walk, Glavine Bigam's single, and Smith's walk all contributed to the Tigers' big inning.
Foster earned the win for the Tigers, pitching four innings and striking out three batters. Bigam led the Tigers with two hits in four at-bats, while Kiser Cassidy led the team with three walks. The Tigers showed a strong eye at the plate, amassing 10 walks for the game. Thornsley and Austin Gray each stole multiple bases, and the Tigers stole nine bases in total.
