Logan Elm secured a convincing 7-0 victory over Groveport-Madison on Saturday, thanks to a powerful pitching performance from Sadie Binkley.
Binkley, the starting pitcher for the Braves, struck out 10 batters over seven innings, surrendering just two hits and zero runs while walking three. Her dominant performance on the mound set the tone for the Braves' win.
The Braves offense came alive in the top of the first, with Ryleigh Wolfe hitting a home run to center field to put her team on the board. Logan Elm went on to collect 11 hits in the game, with Peyton Richendollar leading the way with three hits in four at-bats.
Wolfe, Morgan Armold, and Maleah Gardner each drove in two runs for the Braves, while Brittani Lane and Lucy Caplinger each collected multiple hits. The Braves also demonstrated their speed, stealing four bases in the game.
Groveport-Madison's Aubry Gibbs took the loss, allowing 11 hits and seven runs (six earned) over seven innings, striking out two and walking one. Sydney Westcamp and Aly Roach were the only bright spots for Groveport-Madison, collecting one hit each.
Logan Elm will travel to Miami Trace on Tuesday.
