This should be a fun dual!

125 - #23 Brendan McCrone (R-Fr) vs #12 Brett Ungar (So.) - Does McCrone have more magic up his sleeve?
133 - #13 Nic Bouzakis (R-Fr.) vs Ethan Qureshi (Fr.) - Bouzakis is such a wildcard watching him wrestle. Bonus should be expected, but every once in a while he has a clunker
141 - #3 Jesse Mendez (So.) vs #17 Vince Cornella (So.) - Did they wrestle in Vegas? Cornella is talented, but Mendez is the superior wrestler.
149 - #5 Dylan D'Emilio (R-Sr.) vs #24 Ethan Fernandez (So.) - Don't know much about Fernandez? D'Emilio seems to have turned a corner starting with the end of last season AA at NCAA's and continuing into this season.
157- #12 Paddy Gallagher (R-So.) vs #15 Meyer Shapiro (Fr.) - Paddy is wrestling better this year, but Shapiro is dangerous. See his match w/Andonian in Vegas. Will be an interesting match as it features vastly contrasting styles.
165 - #21 Isaac Wilcox (Sr.) OR Bryce Hepner (R-Jr.) vs #3 Julian Ramirez (Jr.) - Ramirez has been wrestling really well this year. Will be interested to see who TR throws out for OSU.
174 - Rocco Welsh (Fr.) vs Benny Baker (Sr.) - Welsh is very tough. Will be fun to watch his career unfold in Columbus.
184 - #16 Gavin Hoff man (Gr.) vs #8 Chris Foca (Jr.) - Can Hoffman get his weight under control and get back to the magic he produced a couple years ago when he reached AA? Should be a good test against a tough Foca at home.
197 - #24 Luke Geog (R-Fr.) vs. #7 Jacob Cardenas (Sr.) - Geog will be tested by Cardenas. I think Geog has great upside and potential, but I think Cardenas might be a bit too much for the young Buckeye this time.
HWT - #18 Nick Feldman OR Hogan Swenski vs #19 Lewis Fernandes (Sr.) - Will we see Feldman? I hope so, if not, might be bonus for Cornell.

Olympic redshirt my guess. He qualifies.

Don't think you can Olympic redshirt for 1/2 the year. He's been really selective this year competing, has only wrestled in 5 matches.

Definitely going to have my eyes on Meyer v Paddy, bit of a clash of styles. Jesse teched Cornella earlier this year too, want to see if that can be replicated.

Does Olympic Redshirt have the same rules as a typical redshirt? The big one is do Olympic Redshirts get the 5 events to wrestle in to maintain a redshirt?

An Olympic redshirt is a free one-year pause on the "four competition years in five years" rule for athletes. You cannot be enrolled in classes- it's like the year is deleted from the record for those athletes. Because you're not enrolled, you can't compete at all

I don't think that is correct. You can be enrolled in school. Several Olympic redshirts have been pulled midseason and you would have had to be enrolled and passed courses to be eligible.

You're correct. I should have said "most" wrestlers (to my knowledge at least) are not enrolled during an Olympic redshirt. I am sure you can't wrestle attached and then Olympic redshirt, it has to be from the start of the year. I know of five Olympic redshirts that were announced and then later "rescinded":

- Kyle Snyder, 2016. DNC in fall, first wrestling match was January 17th
- Kanen Storr, 2020. DNC in fall, first wrestling match was January 8th
- Taylor LaMont, 2020. Only one I found to have competed in fall schedule- came out of redshirt in late November
- Andrew Berreyesa, 2020. DNC in fall, first wrestling match was January 19th
- Cooper Flynn, 2024. DNC in fall, first wrestling match was December 17th

I don't think Kolodzik was "officially" an Olympic redshirt, although it was reported by everyone to be (he didn't qualify), but he did return amid a gap year.

McCrone loses 7-1.
Bouzakis gets a fall.
Mendez wins 14-4.
D'Emilio wins 8-1.
Paddy loses 15-0... :censored: Shapiro was dominate.
Hepner loses 6-4. Unlucky not to go to SV.
Rocco gets a TF 19-4.
Hoffman gets pinned.
Geog loses 8-2.
Feldman wins 6-4.

Buckeyes win 21-20

13-3 Bucks.

Big match coming up.

Rocco at 74 doesn't bother me. He's going to take some losses, but he's an acceptable replacement for Kharch.

I love the battle in this team. We have done a nice job recruiting pace guys. I think that's what helped guys like Moore to develop. Nick, Jesse. Rocco, and Nic all have high attack rates. That'll pay off more than it will cost, especially with 3-pt takedowns. Am hoping Vinny and some other underclassmen with high attack rates will show a lot of improvement over their time at OSU. Cutting too much weight affects pace. I think Dylan looks way better at 149 because he has more energy and seemingly more enjoyment.
