OHSAA XC State Meet Results Thread

Jackson did something Massillon, mighty Massillon, has never done, win a state team title in cross country
Yes, I know your post is to poke fun at the more football-fixated school. Jackson is the wealthier township to the north of the city. If the school building was 1/2 mile farther east, it would have a Canton mailing address. Perry is the more working class township to the east in a similar boat of being fractions of a mile from having a Canton mailing address, and Tuslaw is the more rural township to the west. Incidentally, Jackson's boys sports teams have now won 5 state championships since 2010 (2x basketball, 2x baseball, and 1x XC).

Washington HS's history at the state XC meet consists of: 1 male qualifier in 2004 and a 2x female qualifier from 1989 and 1990. The boys program also once qualified to regionals as a team in 1987 (even beat Jackson at the regional meet that year). The girls program has never finished higher than 8th at districts. Incidentally, the current boys XC coach at North Canton Hoover is a WHS alum. He was a pretty good 800 runner and PVer in HS who IIRC, became a sub-1:50 800 runner in college at Kent St.
