OHSAA FINAL 4 and FINALS

Olentangy better than Seton in all phases tonight.

Good luck to Liberty in the finals!
Were you at the game?

I heard that it was a very physical game with 2 Seton players getting injured as well as the reffing wasn't "at its best"

Not placing blame on the reffing for the loss but just curious of your thoughts if you where there

I was. Reffing had little impact.

Yes, two Seton starters left early in the game but nothing dirty.

Just got beat soundly by a better team who was faster and controlled the game from start to finish.

Seton is a really talented team. Super talented. You live and die by the High line/offside trap. If you don't adjust out of it, you are going to get burned when teams play direct and have the speed and quality up top.

Always wondered why so many teams never adjusted and played more direct against it.

Elder, I drove down to see the OL vs Seton game. The reffing was average at best. The CR basically ignored all hand balls and missed a few egregious fouls however, he didn't decide the outcome of the game. The game was physical and they were some collisions where players from both sides went down however, most of the players returned to play. The final score should've been 5-2 as the CR and AR blew a call in OL's favor (they ruled a OL player offside however, a Seton defender played a ball with nobody around her and the misplayed ball went to an OL player who scored). Not sure how the CR and AR missed that one since it was one of the highly emphasized rule changes for this year.

As for PR's asertation that OL controlled the game from start to finish, that's definitely not the case. The game went back and forth in phases. OL started the game strong and controlled the ball the first 10+ minutes however, Seton came back and had their fair share of posession. The first half went back and forth in phases. As for the second half, OL came out very strong and had many scoring opportunities but had trouble finishing early in the second half. Seton withstood OL's attacks and eventually the game bagan to shift back and forth again. OL's best opportunities actually came off them countering Seton's attack as they were able to time their runs and passes in behind Seton's kamikazee defense (win by the o/s trapp, die by the o/s trapp). Overall, OL was the better team! They had the better scoring opportunities and could've scored another 3-4 goals easily since most of their scoring opportunities were off of breakaways and switched balls on the ground to players that were in 1v1s with the Seton GK.

As for Seton, they definitely had some great looks and could've scored at least 1-2 more goals. Seton's #10 is an phenomenal player! She created havoc on OL's defense and is definitely one of the best forwards in the state!

Very surprised that Seton fell. But congratulations to Liberty for getting it done. Big game ahead for Rocky and Summit. Summit should pull it out, I didn't see the game but whatever changes Bay Village made Summit needs to replicate. I don't believe it possible that Bay Village could have the same number of high quality players Summit does. CCDS vs OG. I don't think anyone can stop CCDS right now The Zimm twins and Ferris have been unstoppable lately. I'm trying to make that game, unless the game time changes because I know CCDS is working on that. Good luck to both the area teams. I say Summit 2-1 and CCDS 3-0.

Same area - same conference! Not sure this happens too often since most teams in a conference are also in the same division. How awesome for the Miami Valley Conference.

She is outstanding
Pachan is definitely a high quality player but, did you see how #8 earned the free kick that led to the game winning goal? Notice how the CR called a foul against the Strongsville player that led to Panchan's free kick game winning goal. The only problem was that the defender won the ball away from #8 without fouling her (good 50/50 challenge). The ball was away from them before she fell. IMHO it appeared that #8 dove in an attempt to earn a free kick and should've been given a yellow card for the dive. You be the judge! 2023 Walsh vs Strongsville

Pundit, are you going to post this rant about the Strongsville game on every thread?

Yes, it was a flop. Yes, it was missed. I’m sure it will go down in history as the first flop that ever got called as a foul in the history of soccer. 🤣

I’m no Walsh fan, but that Pachan girl is a phenomenal player and seemingly single handedly won a state title by herself, at least down the stretch.

Soccerdad, what's your problem? I posted the information on the two relevant forms (no more, no less). It's probably safe to assume that most people didn't watch the game and weren't aware of what transpired. Now they know!
