High School head coaches:
Nominations are now being accepted for your seniors for the Ohio-West Virginia All-Star Game. It is a three-game series and will be played on Thursday, June 7 in 2007 at the University of Rio Grande. The Ohio team will be comprised of 14-17 players from all parts of the state. There is of course no cost to the players.
Please forward nominations to Joe Abraham at JoeA1010@aol.com. Include pertinent stats, honors and any other information you would like, such as a short evaluation of the player. The coaches for the Ohio team will make the decision on the roster. The coaches include Joe Abraham (Thomas Worthington), Angelo Forte (Hilliard Davidson) and Charles Tackett (Tipp City Tippecanoe). There may be one other coach added from another area of the state. Our goal is to have all of the nominations by the State Clinic and to meet at that time to make decisions on the roster. If you have any questions, feel free to e-mail or call Joe Abraham at (614) 271-4070 or JoeA1010@aol.com.
In the inaugural series in 2006, Ohio won all three games, but each game was a 1- or 2-run game. I believe every girl on the 2006 Ohio team is now on a college softball roster at some level, many playing Division I softball. We will likely invite only a small number of girls from each district, so please use discretion in nominating players.
