Any thoughts on the conference for upcoming season.
Before this fall season that group was known as a basketball group, but nowBut this group seems to have had, better success on the court then on the fields
I can help.Lexington's non conference basketball schedule for 2024/25 and it's a tough as hell schedule! Don't have all the dates in front of me, but here is the non-conference...
Clear Fork 11/29
@ Dover
@ Ontario 12/21
@ Shelby 12/28
@ Sandusky 1/4
Sandusky Perkins 1/11
Dover @ Lex
Rocky River Lutheran West @ Smithville Battle of the Berkey
Cincinnati Princeton
Berlin Hiland

Plus the OCC schedule.
Dover will be in league officially in 25/26 for all sports except football. Could be football now . I've seen they will play all OCC teams in football next season.
If Lex goes 20-2 with that schedule I'd be. surprised, but they will be battle tested for sure.
Only looking at their non league games. Clear should be a win. Dover is a traditional powerhouse winning 20+ games regularly, and they play them twice. Ontario and Shelby are local rivals where records do not matter. Sandusky returns a full roster that went 22-2 last season playing a D1 schedule. Perkins was Junior heavy last season and went 16-8. Lutheran West, Cincinnati Princeton and Berlin Hiland are normally prepared to win any game they play. Anywhere from 5-5 to 7-3So who do you think Lex might lose to in the season
That's a very good assessment that I basically agree with. What also matters is if the football playing guys are healthy for basketball.Only looking at their non league games. Clear should be a win. For the OCC games. They should be favored this season but we all know the OCC tough to go undefeated and specially in back to back years. Off nights and an outstanding performance is always likely during an OCC game. So it could be anything from 12-0 to 9-3
As for the entire regular season, if they win 17 or more games with this schedule they will have played some good basketball and should be ready for tournament.
If they are injured I’m sure their coach will find a way to rest them and get them healthy quickThat's a very good assessment that I basically agree with. What also matters is if the football playing guys are healthy for basketball.
I've heard Dover has graduated some pretty good players and may not be as strong as last season. Cincinnati Princeton is not necessarily a basketball power lately in the Cincinnati area. But they are probably 4x larger than Lex enrollment wise. But it's at Lex. So I think Lex could have a shot. Lex should take care of business against Clear Fork, Ontario, and Shelby. Shelby graduated several of there great players. Including Bruskotter, Lance and Ramsey. But they will have Devito. As "spirit" stated Berlin Hiland and Lutheran West will be tough outs for anyone. But Lex wanted to beef up the schedule and they did.
The OCC is always a meat grinder and going undefeated rarely happens especially to year's in a row. I look towards Mansfield Senior, Ashland, New Philadelphia and maybe Wooster as the biggest threats to Lex.
So I would put 17 wins as the over/ under for a win total for Lex. They will be battle tested for sure.
