The 2 Maumee receivers who went to MAC schools were getting recruited before they even stepped foot on the field at SJJ and I think you could say the same about the Lichtenburg brothers. The well ran dry and without D1 athletes SJJ couldn’t compete.

I would think someone like Nate James might be high on the list for SJJ, young and proven success in the TCL at Start. Karchner isn’t leaving maumee to coach SJJ.

Nate James would be great but I don’t see him leaving Start. I think that kind of fits where he wants to be. But he runs one of the best defensive schemes in the state of Ohio. Really good stuff Start does defensively.

I can appreciate a good Crusher reference, which was more than likely lost on you BUT...

While Nate James has done a decent job this season. Decent. He is not the answer at SJ.

do you guys think Lindke will be like vicars? take over a bad program and restore it. not saying otsego is bad at all it was good the 2 years before he took over. but I'm talking about sfs and rossford. but I just can't see him leaving

I don't see why Lindke would have any interest in leaving SFS for Rossford.

1) Otsego was 10-0 they year before Lindke took over.
2) If you hit the shift key, it capitalizes the letter you type.
3) Rossford is on a whole different level of bad than St. Francis was before and would represent a major step down.
5) He has been there 1 year.

Although I kind of wish he would. Being a follower of the NBC, I kind of miss all the hilarity that was the NBC thread the two years he was at Otsego. Dude sure did get talked about on here when he was over there.

Look at St. Francis. Went and got a young guy and pretty much immediately turned it around. St. John’s is the type of school that will want a proven guy who won’t try to recruit the city. What they need is a young guy to go out and convince middle schoolers to come to St. Johns instead of a Central or SFS. If he isn’t the answer at SJ, who is?

James is not Lindke. And what Lindke has done, while great, is one year. We've been here before.

SJ needs someone who understands how to build a big boy program, which I made clear in my previous posts. Nate James' experience is Northwood and Start, and the Spartans enjoy a distinct advantage over the rest of TPS. With Toledo lacking "big boy" programs many fail to understand what that looks like.

Well that’s what they just tried with a former college coach who should know how to build a big boy program. Didn’t work. Who is someone with experience that you think will go over there?

SJJ's reach is probably more than local. Poaching from the Michigan Catholics or a Public that seems to do it on the up and up wouldn't be out of the question. They might not get a long term head coach away but I'd bet there is an assistant or two up at schools like Lumen Christi might move towns if there was a job (cough at Anderson's) waiting for them.

He wont leave SFS. At least not for awhile. He turned the program around in one year. He used to be an assistant for Dempsey. He really wants to beat Central.

Sf beat Avon Lake tonight 34-31 in a great game. They are competing, which is what matters. They will lose a bit of talent but he is hopefully building a foundation for the future.

BTW we are spoiled in NWOhio with the BCSN crews. They do a great job, especially when Mason Lowry and "Big John" Gibson do a game. Mike Jewell and Tom "The Coach" Cole are great as well but they appear to be a studio guys full time these days. And then you have Kregel who has been around the block as a player and a coach (same as Cole and Jewell).

I did hear "Mike Rob" make an asinine comment today that Whitmer had the most talented roster in the area which is false as that distinction goes to Central who he is partial to since he coached there for a cup of coffee (if you want to call it that). I remember when he got exposed as Bowsher's HC for one year. He can wear all the fancy suits he wants, and pretend to know something, but am told he was a band member in HS in Cleveland. Can anyone refute?

I have no opinions on BCSN - I live too far south for that. I’m just liking this because of the Mike Rob slander. That guy is a moron
