Maumee @ Eastwood (-12)
I have a feeling Maumee isn't quite there yet to compete for a title. They'll fall somewhere in the middle this year.

Fostoria @ Otsego (-27.5)
I hate these large spreads but Fostoria gave up 38 to Van Buren. Although, Otsego only scored 20 against Rossford, who is notorious for not playing defense. Knights win, but don't cover.

Lake @ Genoa (-11)
I like seeing good things happening at Lake but Genoa is going to roll in this one.

Rossford @ Oak Harbor (-37)
How about Rossford almost pulling the upset at Otsego last week? That doesn't matter against OH. Hopefully the JV's can hold and keep Rossford from covering.

Bonus Games:
Fremont Ross @ Findlay (-8.5)
1-3 v 1-3... why is this a bonus game?

Delta @ Archbold (+5.5)
Delta comes back to earth against a better than their record Archbold team.

Tiffin Columbian @ Huron (+7.5)
Tiffin wins, but by less than a TD.

Woodmore @ Margaretta (-3.5)
There are some teams in the NBC that really miss you, Woodmore.

I think they are slightly worse than their record. I referenced this on the NWOAL thread:
Tinora game: is what it is, should have been a loss.
Genoa game: Archbold was losing 14-12 under three minutes with either no timeouts or one timeout. They muffed a punt in their own territory. Genoa could have run the clock down under a minute and pinned Archbold deep in their own territory to make them drive the field with no timeouts. Instead, Fisher goes 5 wide and Genoa throws a pick on 1st down.
Not saying Delta offense or defense is as good as LC but a team that wants to run the ball and control the clock on Archbold can do exactly that.
 
Maumee @ Eastwood (-12) - The Panthers were punched in the mouth last week, hopefully it was a reality check and not a sign of things to come. I expect a lot of points in Pemberville. Maumee 45-42
Fostoria @ Otsego (-27.5) - Otsego snuck by Rossford, I expect them to look a lot better this week and cover, but barely. Otsego 42-14
Lake @ Genoa (-11) - From what I’ve heard Lake was more competitive than the score showed against the Eagles a week ago. If they take care of the ball this should be competitive. Genoa 28-21
Rossford @ Oak Harbor (-37) - Seems unlikely Rossford will be able to slow down the Rockets. Oak Harbor 49-7

Bonus Games:
Fremont Ross @ Findlay (-8.5) - Ross has struggled, Findlay scores a lot. Findlay 42-21
Delta @ Archbold (+5.5) - Archbold has snuck away with a couple wins but Delta doesn’t beat themselves. Delta 28-17
Tiffin Columbian @ Huron (+7.5) - could be a close game, TC has losses to a couple extremely good teams. I’ll take the tornadoes to cover. TC 31-14
Woodmore @ Margaretta (-3.5) - Feels like a toss up, give me Woodmore to get to 4-0! Woodmore 21-14.

Ok, I’ll try and explain. If I set a spread for a game, I shouldn’t be able to pick who will cover the spread. My spread should be what I believe the final score to be. so I would pick a push if someone asked who will cover since I’m the one setting the spread…nobody was ever calling you out for your picks. They were calling out your lack of logic when setting a spread and then picking a side to cover.

My spread is what I think the spread should be set at. Then, my pick is what I think will actually happen. Plus, the spread is due earlier in the week I’m usually one of the first to post being as I have ample time due to retirement). As the week goes on, I’m able to go back and watch games and such on YouTube, check out Joe and Drew’s sites, etc etc… throughout the week. Sorry you have a problem with the way I enjoy high school football. You enjoy it your way, that’s cool, too.

…and just for the sake of throwing a dig out there, your losing record would suggest you don’t understand how to make your picks either.

Not that I actually believe that, but if you’re going to throw stones…

End of the day, it’s a game being played by high school kids.
 
Dumb question as I've never really grasped how lines were made. Why are some + and some - (I understand what it means) but why doesn't every game just use one or the other. Like if you're 3 point underdog isn't the other team a 3-point favorite?

If I have a rooting interest I tend to pick that way 9/10 times, last year I finished second because those teams were successful covering the spread, this year those teams aren’t and some of the games a team covering 30-45 points is just a coin flip.

If you think something will happen that’s what you should set the spread at…? I sometimes set a spread and change my mind a bit later on too and may pick differently but I try and set the spread based on what I think will happen when I’m setting it so I’d neverpick a team to “cover” my spread.

Oak Harbor @ Fostoria (+42) It's so hard to lose by more than 40, but Fostoria finds a way to get it done this week.
Otsego @ Genoa (-5.5) This one is a toss up. Someone wins by a score.
Maumee @ Lake (+21) Alas, the first two games of the season are just a distant memory. I think Maumee comes out after two tough losses and hangs one on an improved, but still struggling Lake team.

Bonus Game:
Whitmer @ Anthony Wayne (+10.5) Originally, I was thinking AW would cover, but looking back at their schedule, they've only played cupcakes. Whitmer pulls away late.
