Saw that StF has the Ned Reeb on its schedule. University will be there too. Should make for a very fast and competitive meet!

December 11th at Ohio State,
Swimming Prelims early, diving in between and Finals at 4:00
Check swimmeet.com for updates and psyche sheet

Will be a good meet

I always look forward to Neb Reed, glad it is back in December. One thing I do like to see is swimmers entered in their best events but often coaches choose not to do this early and place swimmers in off events, maybe you can enlighten me is this because they do not want to show their hand for tournament entries early or what? When some talent is great in several events, those entries predict state points race scoring I guess... your thoughts?

University has the top seed in every event this weekend! Are they going to come down and sweep every event? Can St. Francis or UA steal an event from them?

Is the Ned Reeb going to be a suited and capped meet for some teams? Certainly a good gauge with where the state rankings are in December, even though St. X, Centerville and a few teams from the north are missing. Is this a place to make a statement of dominance with a win. Seems like most swimmers are in their "A" events.

The only possible blemish on this meet may be that some athletes are taking ACT or SAT, forget which, that morning. Could possibly weaken a line up or two. Should be an exciting meet all-in-all.

I would expect everyone to be suited and capped for finals. University always swims fast in December and at least in the past has always been in their fast suits. It will be interesting to see how St. Francis does. They did not swim all that fast last week at St Charles. Of course most of the St Francis swimmers played water polo so it may be that they're not in great swimming shape yet. I don't see UA stealing any events as they have already faced University's line up in their dual meet and came up short. And your right, unlike in the past most seem to be swimming their "A" event. This should provide a good preview of what's to come.

Fantastic meet, superfast for December. swimmeet.com should have all of the specific results tomorrow. UA wins both the girl's and boy's team titles.

St. Francis' Miller doubles in the 200 (1:39) and 100 (46.46), US' Crane doubles in the 200 IM (1:53) and 100 back. US' Malone doubles in the 50 (21.31) and 100 Breast (56.8). (Just recalling times off the top of my head, sorry for incomplete results)

Thanks to all of the coaches and volunteers for a smooth meet.

It was a fantastic meet with some outstanding swims.

Just wanted to say great job at the announcer's table, Preeder. Really enjoy your style and freedom to communicate with the crowd. Only announcer that comes close is the one in Canton.

Thanks. Great swimming deserves excitement and crowd participation. It is a ton of fun to try to whip the crowd up and I think the kids react by swimming faster. I was so impressed by Malone breaking a 98 record set by Olympian Mark Gangloff. That was a huge achievement and I hope that the big crowd recognized the significance and can say "I remember seeing Malone at the Ned Reeb" when he makes the Olympic team.

"...while the Preppers had 399 points and finished second to Upper Arlington (407) at the Ned Reeb Invitational"

Swimmeet.com is about a hundred points off on their team total:

1 University 312
2 Upper Arlington 303

The UA 407- US 399 was the score that I read at the end of the meet, for some reason, the swimmeet total is incorrect.

Did Upper Arlington or University win? The results say University but the thread says Upper Arlington. Which one is correct?

Depends on how many places scored. The swimmeet.com total scored only 16 places. The score read at the meet scored 20 places.

Congrats to UA - nice meet! Look for 2 more victories this weekend!

You're right UA swam well at the Ned Reeb. Of course, scoring 20 places helped. But I don't see them winning the Big 8. There each team only swims 2 per event. I see UA as 4th behind St.X, University & St.F. The more interesting contest will be which of those 3 wins the meet. As for the Christmas Meet, I don't think they keep team scores. Also, St.X has split their team as they are also swimming the Viking that day. Anyway congratulations to UA on a fine Ned Reeb.
