University School knocks off Toledo St. John, 2-1 in the final. Was apparent all along it'd be these two schools in the final. Lake Catholic looked impressive though, wins over Padua, Dublin Jerome, and Cincinnati Moeller. Lost to St John 6-4.
MEADVILLE PA TOURNAMENT
St. Ignatius defeats St. Edward, 4-2, in the Championship. Wildcats really are flying high for being a young team, we'll see if it keeps up through the end of the season into the playoffs. Ed's may be beginning to build itself back up after a rough early season stretch.
WALSH JESUIT INVITATIONAL
Shaker Hts defeats Prairie Ridge (IL), 3-2, in overtime for the title. This tournament brought some interesting results, with Holy Name and Rocky River both defeating defending State Champion Sylvania Northview. Shaker looked impressive with wins over three state-ranked teams in Walsh (5-0), Gilmour (4-2), and Hudson (4-0).
Regular season finally coming to a close and each weekend it seems as if the race for the state title is getting more and more wide open. My Top Ten after this weekend:
