Massillon, OHIO - In the first ever game between the Massillon Tigers and Elkhart Lions, coming from Indiana, Massillon rolled to their 4th victory of the season with a score of 55-0. Most of those points came in the first half with Massillon scoring 21 in the 1st quarter and 27 in the 2nd quarter, and a final 7 points in the 4th quarter.

Massillon had a very balanced offense with 258 yards rushing and 199 yards passing, while Elkhart just couldn't get their offense going, only rushing for 24 yards and passing for 77 yards. Massillon's defense looked pretty good too and deserves a lot of credit for keeping Elkhart from scoring.

Aside from the game itself, we should not forget the awesome show by the Massillon Tiger Swing Band that celebrated its 85th anniversary. The Massillon Tiger Swing Band performed alongside more than 200 alumni members from all decades as recent as 2020s and as far back as the 1960s, with 2 of those alumni members being from the class of 1967. They put on a wonderful halftime show and many of the returning alumni members seemed to love it, having smiles on their faces most of the time.

Overall, it was yet another great week for Massillon to push their season record to 4-0 as they prepare to host an undefeated 4-0 St. Edward Eagles next Friday. Massillon and St Edward have faced each other 8 other times and are currently tied with a 4-4 series record. Massillon won the previous year with a score of 31-28 and lost in 2020 with a score of 23-24 and 2021 with a score of 18-35.

How so? I think you're reading into it a bit too much. Nothing malicious was meant by it. But how should it have been worded?
Never said that anything malicious was meant by it...... Buttttt, the phrase "managed to pull out" certainly implies that the game was a close, tight game... As an apparent prospective author you surely could have chosen numerous different phrases to describe a game that was 48-0 at halftime.... If you can't come up with any then perhaps a writing class is in order....

That's above my paygrade. I'm not that great of a writer (and never said I was) and not trying to become a pro writer. Doing this as a volunteer for fun and learning. As said, you're reading into it way too much and should probably just move on.

I'll just not cover these games and go cover other games that would be more appreciative.

Ohhhh come on now, quit trying to play the innocent victim card to garner sympathy... It apparently worked because you got pcbuck to give you a thumbs up... That is quite an honor!!! He is a notoriously unbiased poster....:rolleyes::rolleyes:

EDIT: I noticed that you changed the wording of your original article.... (y)(y)(y)

Someone writes an article that Tiger fans don't fully agree with so they badger, bully, and pester him for days until he changes the article. Not only does he edit the article but he changes it to the exact phrase that the Tiger fans suggest.

If they're willing to go to all these lengths for an article written on Yappi with at most hundreds of views, imagine what they were willing to do when sportswriters decided who won the State Championship for football. Hmmm.

Badger bully and pester??? Sure mack. Have to be able to take some mild constructive criticism if you want to get better. And it did get better. Overall nice article matthew keep at it.

You mean like "unknowingly" have boosters pay the tuition of athletes?
