Our high school (based out of Wooster, OH) has a competitive 16/17U summer travel baseball team that is looking for 2-3 pitchers for the Summer of 2022. Two-way varsity-level players are preferred, but if you are interested in being a PO, we can work with that, as well.
In Summer 2021, our 16/17U team was primarily 16U players (only had 2-3 17U kids), and we were competitive in 17U travel tournaments (finished the summer 10-8 which included a Cincy Flames tourney and 2 Midwest Challenge tourneys). With many of the same kids returning, we hope to have another successful summer.
Cost is $400 per player. We hope to only carry 10-11 players (max 12) to provide the best experience (a.k.a. playing time) for everyone. Nearly all players are from the same high school, but this past summer we had 2 from outside the school, both of whom (players and their parents) had great experiences. Our catcher is a D2 (+) college prospect, so pitchers will have someone reliable to work with behind the plate.
This past summer, our high school coaching staff coached the team (since the OHSAA removed the 10-day limit). If the OHSAA reinstates the 10-day rule, the team will be coached by a former college baseball player and College of Wooster Hall of Fame inductee.
We are still finalizing next summer's tournament schedule, but it could look something like the following:
6/16-19: Midwest Challenge (hosted by 965 Midwest Challenge), scouted by Prospect Wire
6/25-26: Midwest Recruiting Round Robin at Huntington University (Indiana), scouted by college coaches (hotel not included)
July 4 weekend: Leaving options open for families to take vacation; could schedule one-off games or enter a tournament for families that do not take a vacation
7/7-10: UC/Miami Showcase (Cincy Flames), scouted by PBR (hotel not included)
7/13-17: CABA High School World Series, heavily scouted by college coaches
* We know for sure we will be doing at least 1 Cincy Flames tournament and the CABA World Series. We will have at least 1 stay-and-play, maybe 2.
