Lee Corso Retiring

in the 1976 season, Corso called a time out after his team scored a touchdown early in the second quarter. The entire team huddled together for a photograph with the scoreboard filling the background. It read: Indiana 7, Ohio State 6. It was the first time in 25 years that the Hoosiers had led the Buckeyes in a football game.
Classic

Had the good fortune to be at Purdue when Corso and Knight were coaching the rivals. It was a great time to be a sports fan.

He was 78-98-6 as a football coach, never could figure why he got on GameDay...wish him well...BAM!

Good for Lee. He was a decent coach and a tremendous guy on TV up until the last few years, when clearly age related issues were catching up with him. Hoping for the best for him.
loved the fact that when he the HC at Indiana, and playing the Buckeyes... they scored a TD to go ahead of the buckeyes in the game... he called a Timeout, and had the whole team come on the field and they took a TEAM picture with the scoreboard behind the team...CLASSIC!!!!

A lot of those were years at a hopeless program. IU cared about one game a year. Other than that, BBall was king and someone didn't like sharing attention. Corso did better than most with what he had to work with.

the man, the myth, the LEGEND.

Likely never happened because a butt-hurt OSU toady website looking for clicks implied it didn't? Hell, they couldn't even make their own fake, had to have a lame AI make it for them? Lol, Sheep.
Really think a HC is going to call a time out and have his players stand before a scoreboard and take a picture during a game, why are there no witnesses to this picture taking. If you read the comment section this from an OSU band member: We (whole band) would have recognized something strange, had they stopped the game to take a photo. Why would EW be butt-hurt about something that happen almost 50 years ago. You are the one that is a sheep if you really think that this photo took place again why no witnesses, yes very likely a myth.

What I think is that any Ohio St fan with any balls would have just let it fly by and I'll explain why.

Football is full of myths and legends. If someone has so much of their self-worth invested if an f-in football club, they couldn't let this one live (an actual compliment to OSU) instead of jumping on board a writer that if not for the OSU gig, would have no gig at all.... JMHO

Quoting "the band," lol. That doesn't scream "loser" to you?" Have you actually watched a college band at a game? They pay about as much attenditon to the game as they do to remembering the weather.Think it through. Why would anyone in the band remember the weather in a game against Indiana, let alone from years before, unless something out of the ordinary happened? GTFO smh

All I posted was it likely never happened. the EW article was the only article that I could find anything about that timeout/picture, you don't think a newspaper at the time would have mentioned it? Quit disparaging EW's, overall, they do a good job covering OSU sports. Quit being such a sensitive nellie. Want to believe in fairy tales princess go ahead.
