What does everyone think about Jacksons team this year are they among the top teams or do they still need work.

I think their team will be a contender next year with all of the freshman coming up and already being on varsity and competeig with these seniors is hard on the freshman.

Jackson isnt showing as much potential as I thought they would

WHAT!?!?!

11-2, one of the top ranked goalie's and defenses in the state...incredible passing improvement in the past four games. Will probably be 13-2 going into the Hoover show down...what more do you want.

In their loss to Hudson the score at half was 3-2...they got out passed in the second half. Against Walsh they got ambushed by a special double cut offense that took their double slide zone "D" away...they finally adjusted but too late. Ufortunately Hoover scouted that game.

In any case noone can be dissappointed with the Bear's progress this year (remember they had a losing record last year).

Contender next year? Jackson is losing a lot of seniors at the end of this year. The Larsen kid is good, I agree, but he can't replace the lost middies and attackmen. A lot of his goals come from the point position on man up. This happens because the defense is worried about the wings, McGugin and Craven, shooting. Next year teams won't have to worry about Beauch/Macmillan driving from x, Craven calling the iso, or McGugin's amazing shot. Every single team next year will single Larsen out and the rest of Jackson will have to step up and score. I will admit though, the defense can only get better.

Another thing I left out, face off specialist Nate Hirsch. Winning face offs means getting posessions, and Nate Hirsch has won a lot of face offs.

Jackson definitly has a lot of talent this year, but it is hard to say how well they will do in the state tournament. Perhaps we will learn more about how good the Polar Bears truly are when they take on a respectable Green team, as well as Hoover at the end of the year. I personally have been impressed with the team this year considering my expectations weren't too high for the 2006 season. GO BEARS!

Yes they are losing some players BUT the JV went undefeated, they're 8th grade team was the state champs the year before. They have a ton of talent coming up. They will definately miss McGugin but I believe they will be far more balanced next year and may be deep enough to roatate a full three lines!

Other than their goalie they have the entire defense back. Davis Raff will replace Vince Dianna next year, Davis could be better than Vince. Davis started a few games a year ago and went undefeated this year on the JV.

I don't know. It's tough to say. Maybe some of the younger kids will step up. Losing all of their man up offense, which generates a ton of goals, excpet for Larsen really hurts. And I know Diana played terrible against Hoover but Raff is no where near as good as him.
