IVC 24-25

This might be the next Dylan Kaufman or segar I am hoping maybe back to back again lol. Tom seam pretty excited but also was not excited when I told him about Richmond heights lol. I thought he said it was the principal kids is hiland getting a new principal?

The transfer portal in highschool sports is the norm anymore, I'll take it, hopefully this going to happen and this kid has the talent to make a difference, I know the rest of the IVC South division will not be happy in basketball, the rest of the league always brings there A game when they play us

I wonder if Tyler Renner left he was the highschool principal and Mark was the assistant principal or are they adding another highschool principal

I was wondering if hiland got a new principal and that is why we are getting the transfers? I know people won't be happy and said that we cheated and if Alex said he is really good he must be good.

I am about 90% positive that is what Tom said I know I heard principal. He was sitting in the both across from me it was kind of hard to hear.

Hopefully the chemistry will be good between the new player and the in coming seniors and juniors classes this coming season

Hiland is bringing in a male and a female from GlenOak - but who will help their respective basketball teams.

This is pretty normal. If you look at the Final 4 each year, darn near every team will have CB numbers added for kids who don’t live in the district. Honestly - athletes want to go play for successful programs and families benefit sending their kids to schools with good community support.

What makes it funny in this instance is that - there are a few Hiland die-hard posters on here who get furious and argue when it is pointed out that many of their successful teams over the years have indeed featured transfers and not all home-grown kids.

The reality is - getting a move-in every few years can help small public schools stay competitive. You can look all over the state and see instances of this.
Funny how that works isn't it. Also Richmond Heights won't even be world beaters next year anyways

It's Ryan Zerger is the boys name from GlenOak,I found it on MaxPreps on GlenOak's basketball roster info

That is who I thought it was I did see a clip of him playing he did block a lot of shots and I assume that he was on varsity. I wonder if the reader was at hiland last year or is this the first year. Coming up.

Dad has been a teacher at Hiland for at least a dozen years.

Ryan is about 6-5 I have been told.

The parents have not made a final decision as of a few days ago. Not sure if the transfer will be with or without a residence change. So, there is a lot for them to consider.

It looks like it will probably happen, but there is a lot for mom and dad to consider.

If they do this last year, all the transfer rules and disincentives don't come into play. But it is what it is.

Some of the reasons more kids don't transfer in to Hiland are negated with dad's teaching experience there. Mainly, he already understands the unique nature of the community, has a job, and has connections within. I think it's harder to do without those conditions. FWIW

There is a 5'10" sister as well that plays basketball. interesting to see how this plays out.

With my Hawks having 5 senior returning pretty good letterman back and a undefeated reserve team moving up, hopefully The sophomore big boy Ryan could be the missing piece to a pretty good year, win the IVC South League title and beat Monroe Central out of the tournament this season and anything after that will be icing on the cake

They just lost there two big guns in T Howell and C Allen, but do return three starters, two will be Juniors and the other will be a senior, they had six seniors on the roster but the other four were role players

Mr Zerger has been at Hiland for 30 years.

Oldest son just graduated from Glen Oak- 1000 pt scorer- going D2. Some issues there for boys and girls. Doesn’t want that for last 2 kids. Has been considering this for last 5-6 years. Move may finally happen.

Just seen on Facebook over the weekend, oldest boy that just graduated, signed a letter of intent to play basketball for Walsh college

Nothing to do with basketball, but on the baseball tournament draw today, Hiland will play the winner of Malvern vs Monroe Central, come on MC win that game, the Hawks baseball team will be waiting on you, maybe a little revenge mode there for the basketball team
