ITCL Season

A lot of changes in the lower division with new coaches at WR, Wellsville, and Lowellville. I think this year the title is up for grabs with no real front runner. JM will be very good with their pitcher and catcher back, WR lost some major players but should reload, Sebring will be very young, Wellsville has a lot of girls returning, Lowellville has their #1 pitcher back, Southern has become very competitive, graduating just two girls from last year, they could see themselves in the mix, McDonald has their #1 pitcher back. Leetonia struggled last year and very well could again this year. I think just about anyone could find themselves with a shot to take it all. Should be interesting!

JM and WR should be the front runners if you look at them on paper and tradition. McDonald and Lowellville can be carried a long way by having a very good pitcher. Wellsville and Southern have been competative over the past few years and are looking for a break out season for their programs. Leetonia may again struggle, but learned from last years season so may be more competative. Sebring, from what I hear is very young with few upper classmen and many soph/fr. Who can stay healthy and get things rolling? Who can get on their fields and play games would be the hardest question to answer?

Who are the new coaches at WR, Low, and Wells?

WR's new coach is Bill Amero's (former Lowellville coach) daughter. She played for him at Boardman. Wellsville has Gabrielle Burns, who played at Wellsville and was a pitcher at Kent. I believe Lowellville now has last year's assistants at the helm.

lowellville softball

lowellville has 27 girls out looking for more jv games starting to lose to many games good luck to all league teams hope to see ya in the regionals go rockets and good luck to all my former boardman players and coaches but best of luck to coach amero my brother

Outdoor Scrimmage

Hope the J-M Girls get to play @ Candlelight Knolls. Not sure if weather will allow it. Hoping for good things out of the J-M BlueJays this year.

JV Team

J-M will not have a JV Team this year. About 18-19 girls came out this year. Could be tough on team in the next few seasons without a JV Team to keep building on.

Congrats to Coach Matz @ Lowellville, Coach Amero @ BCWR, and Coach Amero @ Howland, and good luck for the coming season!

The Boardman connection lives on!

:)

J-M was @ Kent State this week and looked good playing against Struthers (3-1 win) and against Field (2-0 loss).

April 6th

J-M loses to Lowellville 5-4 after having 4-1 lead going into 6th inning.Too many errors that cost runs. Both pitchers pitched well. Knipp(J-M) 13 strikeouts and Pavlicko 15 strikeouts. Play again tomorrow.

Somewhat surprised by that result. Of course, with Pavlicko on the mound, Lowellville has a great weapon.

WR 11 Southern 0 5 innings. Indians haven't shown up yet this year. Hopefully they get things moving in the right direction.

April 7th

J-M bounces back with a 17-5 win over Lowellville. Errors in the first two innings cost the Bluejays 5 runs. After that all Bluejays. J-M plays South Range at home tomorrow. Bluejays 3-1 (3-1 ITCL)

College Committed

Lindsey Knipp committed to Columbia College, Columbia, South Carolina to play softball. Congrats to you Lindsey !! We are very proud of you !!!!!! :)

Pavlicko has great stuff on the mound. Easily the best pitcher in the lower tier. Lowellville has a nice team this year.

J-M is 4-3 (3-3 ITCL). Lost to McD. twice, 5-3 and 1-0. Won against JFK. Play again Sat. Newton Falls (Doubleheader).
