I am a traditionalist. Been a college football fan since the 70s. I believe the sport was best pre 1992 when the conference shuffling started. So I have decided to put leagues back where they belong. With some exceptions.
ACC(9)-NC, NCSU, Duke, Wake, Clemson, UVA, Maryland. plus two schools because a seven team league is a scheduling nightmare with a 12 game season. My Choices Va Tech and Ga Tech. Others Army and Navy or FSU and Miami.
Big East (9)-PSU, Pitt, WV, Syracuse, Rutgers, Boston College, Temple plus two schools. Choices: Cincinnati and Louisville. Others Army and Navy or FSU and Miami.
New Southern(8)-Miami, FSU, South Carolina, ECU, Memphis, SMiss, Tulane, Tulsa. Needs one more. Maybe two.
Sun Belt(9)-UAB, Old Dominion, USF, UCF, Georgia St, S Alabama, Charlotte, WKU, ETSU, North Texas.
Big Ten(10)-Ill, Ind, Purdue, NW, Wisc, Minn, Iowa, OSU, MSU, TSUN. I might consider adding ND but then would drop a school to stay at ten.
SEC(10)-LSU, Ole Miss, MSU, Bama, Auburn, Ga, Fla, UK, UT, Vandy
SWC(9)-Bring back the nine school league.
Big 8(10)-Okla, OSU, Neb, ISU, Colorado, Mizzou, Kansas, K-State plus Utah and Iowa from the Big 10 (If ND joins the Big 10)
Pac 10(10)-Back to 10 schools.
MAC(10)-Miami, BGSU, Toledo, Ohio, Akron, No Ill, Ball State, WMU, CMU, EMU
Little East(11)-Buffalo, Army, Navy, UConn, UMass, App State, CCarolina, Liberty, Ga Southern. JMadison, Marshall. Needs to lose at least one school because 10 should be the max.
South Coast(15)- FIU, FAU, Troy, Jacksonville State, SHSU, Texas State, UTSA, NMSU, UNM, UTEP, La Tech, ULM, ULL, Ark St., La Tech. Same issue as Little East.
MWC(11)-Hawaii, SDSU (I am an Aztec and I wish there was room in the Pac 10 but sadly, no) SJSU, Fresno St, Boise State, UNLV, Colo St, USAFA, Utah St., UNReno, Wyoming. Again, no league more than 10.
Not sure where BYU ends up.
