Hilliard Davidson opening

Per the OHSAA job postings site...one of the major D1 jobs in Cbus is now open? HD has been average the last few years but thought the coach did a good job, wonder what happened?
Any names to watch for a new head coach?

Heard they were going to announce the new coach a week or so ago and he pulled out the same day.

I heard they have had 2 people accept the job and then back out last minute because of pay, housing market, and years on teaching scale.

At this point it may be wise to have a one year interim and open it up again next year early in the process to get better candidates.

Don't know about the coaching situation, but Davidson made it to the championship game at the Mt. Vernon Nazarene University shootout Monday. Looked pretty good

Who was their competition? The NAZ normally has a small school lineup at their events.

He was the head coach at Mansfield Madison for 3 seasons collecting records of (11-11), (11-12), (1-22) for a career coaching record of 23-45 while at Mansfield Madison.

Madison is a pretty tough place to coach, right? But still. Going from 1-22 Madison to Davidson is quite a nice jump for a coach.

In the last 20+ years they have had 5 head coaches and all left on their own. None were fired or forced out so in today's sports that is a good thing. Of those 5 coaches, 2 ended with winning records but in defense, 3 of them were there four or less seasons. So they really didn't stick around long enough to build a program up. Armstrong was an assistant for 4 seasons before becoming the head coach. During his entire time the program went 55-95.

Thanks for the facts not "thoughts", good to know.

Now for this job you do need to be a seasoned high school coach.
