some say middle is the hardest position, others say setter or libero. In your opinion what is the hardest position in volleyball?

Middle though some may disagree since they sit half of each match. Maybe outsides since they perform every skill.

Liberos have it easy

"Liberos have it easy."

They do ? It all starts with a pass. If you can't pass it, you can't set or hit it.

All positions have their ups and downs.

You must have been a middle. :D

Setter is the most difficult IMO. It's their job to get to every ball off the first pass (not always most accurate) and it's up to them to get their hitters in position to execute. They're the QB out there.

Next would be OH because most play all the way around (passing and hitting). After that, Middle because they're the most important player at the net even if only playing 3 rotations (hitting and blocking). Then i'd say libero. Easiest is likely Opposite. Many times they don't play back row as they're subbed out in a 6-2, they usually don't pass in serve receive either as a back row setter will pull them to the net. So although they're usually going against the strongest non-middle hitter on the other side while blocking, they don't cover as much ground as a middle but don't do as much as an outside.

This obviously is assuming a few things and different teams will rely on different positions to play more rotations/spots and pass. But i'd definitely say setter is the toughest spot.

Some here might confuse hardest with most important.
Middle is the hardest to be good at. Blocking pin to pin, having to get off the net fast, and adjust approach based on the pass, not the set. Skill sets are hard to learn and hard to practice.
