Friday Finals (11/17/23)

or one could say 3/4 are public, as usual, and the outcry is ridiculous when the vast # of titles are won by publics...
So the concept of disproportionality is beyond your comprehension?

...except for your blind squirrel recruiting machine which will probably win 1 for the first time this year
Ya gotta admit, the idea of an Ignatius fan accusing any other school of recruiting deserves a good chuckle.

But not all regions have private schools in them. That's why Region 2 and 3 champions always are public schools. But how often do public schools win Regions 1 and 4??

D4 is wide open, D1 does get dominated by private schools over the last five -10 years

Pubic schools D4 Champions
Glenville 2022
Massie 2021
Van Wert 2020
Clyde 2019
Wyoming 2018
Steubenville 2017
Bishop Hartley Private 2016

Considering this comes up so often I'd almost be fine with private/public separation so long as the public school division could NEVER say "well we would've beaten the private school division champ this year, we were that good".

Again, be careful what you wish for.

Glenville is a little different from alot of the other schools on the list. It's apart of a large urban district and doesn't have attendance boundaries (unless you do extracurriculars at Glenville and attend Ginn Academy, which would mean you'd have to live in the Glenville zone). Which is fine by me. I'm a Glenville fan. I don't care how kids matriculate there. As long as it's not against the rules

You think anyone would care about that? It would be more fun listening to Hoban whine because they couldn’t beat Ed’s in the private regional final……and Iggy and TCC. The same 3 to 4 teams over and over in the final. Boring. The private state champ game would turn into Hoban traveling to St. Francis……86 people in the stands and no one cares. Be careful what you wish for.
