If a teacher makes less than $15 an hour, that is massively underpaid.lol, my wife is a teacher, she is not even close to being underpaid.

So all that college and he works for grub hub ?? Land of opportunityThat’s insightful. Wages are generally earned. You guys just don’t get it. You don’t like that entry level workers demand 15-20 bucks an hour. Get with the times and pay attention. The gig economy is a huge driver to what is happening. My son worked as a clerk at wine store as a senior in high school and the first couple of years in college. He started at $9 and hour and ended up at $11. They begged him to come back but last year he started delivering Grub Hub. Instead of $11 and 8-10 hour retail shifts, he makes $20 an hour and works whenever he feels like it. We ain’t living in the 70’s and 80’s anymore. My God.
Depends of the subject ??If a teacher makes less than $15 an hour, that is massively underpaid.
I doubt any teacher is making less than $15/hour.If a teacher makes less than $15 an hour, that is massively underpaid.
He did Grub Hub last summer and during his senior year. He will likely continue to do it as he just took a graduate assistant job on the staff of a college football team. That does not pay much but usually is the required route. So all that college and he works for grub hub ?? Land of opportunity
I don't want to put any district on blast but I could name some districts in Ohio (largely in impoverished areas) that currently start new teachers at under $30,000. $15/hr adjusted to full time work measures out to about $31,200.I doubt any teacher is making less than $15/hour.
I’m just basing that on FishFraud‘s comments.I doubt any teacher is making less than $15/hour.
I am old....and with age comes wisdom. Hopefully you will gain some at some point in the future. How old are you? Must be ancient .
Basic knowledge of simple economics would benefit you greatly. That’s insightful. Wages are generally earned. You guys just don’t get it. And what economic lesson am I missing from that post?Basic knowledge of simple economics would benefit you greatly.
Can't wait to see if I'm a big winner tonight!Yep, they gave us all “free” money through the pandemy and even protected us from the China flu by getting us all pieces of cloth to wear. Heck, our bespectacled governor has even made a game show for us for more “free” money
Your wisdom sucks. You deserve whatever anybody is willing to pay you. That is what capitalism is all about. I guess you don’t understand how demand impacts economics. In the example I gave you (Grub Hub) wages are dynamic based on demand. You need a serious refresher.I am old....and with age comes wisdom. Hopefully you will gain some at some point in the future.

That kinda sucks.$15/hr works out to $31,200. Plenty of districts start their elementary school teachers in the mid/high 20s.
Chipotle announced raising prices on menu items up to 4% so it can accommodate $15/hr starting pay. That bumps the steak burrito at the location nearest to me from $9.10 to $9.46. That's not a bridge too far for a consumer like me.
I don't want anyone handling my food other than those who prepare and serve it.He did Grub Hub last summer and during his senior year. He will likely continue to do it as he just took a graduate assistant job on the staff of a college football team. That does not pay much but usually is the required route.
So you've never had a pizza delivered to you?I don't want anyone handling my food other than those who prepare and serve it.
No grub hub or uber eats for me, thank you very much.
And you thought their tickets were expensive before...Cedar Point recently raised minimum wage to $20 an hour due to a staffing shortage. It’s unclear how they accomplished this seeing that the legal minimum wage is much lower than that figure
Your argument is predicated that the price increases are driven strictly by inflationary pressures. Inflation rates have generally been in decline over the last 70 years. Wages not keeping has almost nothing to do with price increases. Look at the attached chart and then think really hard what might be a bigger driver?A $0.36 doesn’t seem like much, but over time consistent price increases like this are what is driving the wealth gap. It’s death by a million cuts. A decade ago a steak burrito was like what, $6.00-$6.50? The reality is wages aren’t increasing for most Americans to match these price increases. Raising wages isn’t enough, because the other huge effect of inflation is rising asset values.
Saving money isn’t enough, you need hard assets. Most of baby boomers wealth has come because they bought homes cheap and then the Fed inflated the currency. That wealth generation technique is no longer possible for many working class Americans. The Federal Reserve system is a straight ponzi

The funny thing is you believe that's all itll increase.Chipotle announced raising prices on menu items up to 4% so it can accommodate $15/hr starting pay. That bumps the steak burrito at the location nearest to me from $9.10 to $9.46. That's not a bridge too far for a consumer like me.
The pizza delivery guy is your server. So you've never had a pizza delivered to you?
The vast majority of the country does not think like you do but we already knew that.I don't want anyone handling my food other than those who prepare and serve it.

LOL. Like a contractor performing the same task as an employee changes a thing. What a fool. The pizza delivery guy is your server.
Grub hub introduces a third party.
I'm not afraid to go into a restaurant, sit down, and order. The vast majority of the country does not think like you do but we already knew that.
The pizza guy works for the restaurant.LOL. Like a contractor performing the same task as an employee changes a thing. What a fool.
Fear is not a big driver for delivery services. And even if it was, nobody cares. There is demand and money to be made.I'm not afraid to go into a restaurant, sit down, and order.
20 dollars an hour...for a couple hours of work a day. Cool story. That’s insightful. Wages are generally earned. You guys just don’t get it. Interesting take. I'm guessing many of these greasy miscreants are your old delivery drivers considering they make more $ with Grubhub. ?The pizza delivery guy is your server.
