Fish fry season

 
Have to laugh at the people who don't attend church but by damn..when it's lent they aren't eating meat on Fridays!...but gorge themselves on fish.
 
Trevor, I know that no fish fry is worth it for you to drive 3 - 4 hours up here, so I can't help you. I am wondering about a few things, though. Do you care what kind of fish it is ? Are the sides or extras important to you ? Does it matter who the profits of the fish fry benefit ?

Carp is tasty and it is usually served at the upper class churches. But I will settle for cod or talipia. I will drive hours for a good piece of fish. But I need prices. I don't care how they spend my money as long as I get mine.

I wasn't aware Catholics cornered the market on fish frys? It isn't like we are going to church just to sip the wine. We are paying for the fish and that money helps support the church. Last I checked churches were kinda hurtin for money. Besides that I eat meat on Fridays too!!!! You know what??? Hey fwk let's go hit up a fish fry at the local church. I am buying, wear something sexy.

Do those types bother you more or less than the people that don't get dressed up enough for church?
 
Bcb where are the best ff? You love food, I figured you would at least have a map of shortcuts to ff! I was going to head to st ALS in Shandon on Friday, but had chipotle instead.
 
let me tell u how you are supposed to fast for lent . I meen ,if you are going to do it you should do it correctly. Lips does not eat anything with a bloodline in it for 40 days ( so no meat ,no chickens , no fish , no shrimp , clams and oysters are ok though ) -see no blood from them ...also LIPS gives up dairy ( milk ,cheese and that type of stuff). so what do i eat yopu may ask ??? alot of peanut butter alot of carbs ..i am one of the few who actuallu gain weight during lent ..i know its not good but i do ... also, for the real hard core ...ou are not really supposed to "cook" anything ..that is dont use the stove or micrwave ...so i dont do that exteme but some of my pals do

Carp ? Get out of here with carp. Do you realize that if you ate an Ohio River carp, it could be the only thing in the food chain between you and fwk's dinner ?
