Ellet 2010

Look for more of the same or worse in 2010. Ellet loses 4/5 on the offensive line, both running backs and two ends. Defensive side of the ball may be a little better but it couldn't be much worse. As always Buchtel and Garfield will rule and Firestone is young. Buchtel gets better every year under Ricky Powers and the Rams return 19 starters next year.

Well, thanks for that earth shattering enlightenment!

Same crap, different year. Give Ellet fans something they don't know!

Buchtel will be down again. They lose a ton of senior players from a very average team that beat Garfiedl who played their worst game of the season. Ellet will suck the pellets again!

My son talked to 3 kids in the weight room who said they were transfering to Springfield. The starting center last year, the all-city nose guard and one other who I forget. Another dad who's son has started for 2 years told me he's going to ST V. Heard of a few others but they are just rumors. It's the mad exodis everyone expected.

Funny thing is, the other night I'm watching Semi Pro and I couldn't help but think about Ellet when they were shouting, "We're number 4, We're number 4". Only difference is "We're number 3, We're number 3 and Happy to be!!"

A kid is transferring to St. V??? Trust Tha Bank, the kid will regret that. Tha Bank saw no one on Ellet's team last year that could play at StV. Yes, THAT is the reason that the lineman transferred to Ellet FROM StV before last season.

Bank, the player is Ellet's kicker. According to his dad he worked out for the staff at St. V and did very well. He's been kicking for Ellet since his freshman year and he's pretty good. Second team all-city behing the girl from Stone. He will be a junior next year.

TRUST AND BELIEVE

that it is really going down hill at Ellet because when the kicker wants to transfer out that says it all. The question I have is how can a football staff coach evaluate a player from another program to see if he is good enough to kick for their program. I believe also that Coach Boardman and his staff are worried about other areas in their program then the kicker. That is why they are living on the westside of Akron.

Dont think Coach Boarman is worried as you say M & G. He returns a lot of skill position players and his Freshman teams over the last 3 years have only lost a total of 4 games. If anything, Excited is a better adjective to use, rather than worried.
Losing 2 of the 4 games to eventual State Champs in 2009 is nothing to be ashamed about, along with a last second loss to Walsh in a game where they should have won.

yost is a joke. everybody knows this. despite any talent that comes through ellet, they will always be mediocre under him.

Bank, the lineman was a starter at stv the season prior to his transfer. get your facts straight.

I asked Ellet's offensive line coach why all these kids were leaving and his reply was, "What the ---- are you talking about?"
Said he was in the weightroom the other day and wasn't aware anyone was leaving.

True or not that's what he told me.

That kid started at StV. He is a nice sized kid, but about all! Big and soft, fits in well at Ellet, except for the big part. Usually small and soft, AND slow!

actually he was. and he was being recruited by cincinnati as well. but im sure they recruit big softees all the time, right?

Based on Cincy's defensive efforts their last 2 games against Pitt and Florida, they already have a bunch of softies on their roster, so he would fit right in!

Good Luck to Tyson Gulley at Big East power Syracuse. Hopefully he can help them improve on their 14-45 record over the past 5 seasons.
(Here's a tip....don't hold your breath!)

Sorry, Bank. Not sure if you got some abc disease from no Lysol in the skank tank...but why do you get on here and bash a kid months after the season was over. Your football knowledge is supreme, but the lineman from STVM came to Ellet because private school got too expensive. He was a starter there and at Ellet. The North coach said he was the toughest lineman they faced all year. Kenny Johnson, matter of fact, is helping the kid get in contact with college coaches and passing on film because Joe Yost- who I hear told this kid he was basically family with the coaches at UC and U of A and OSU- has done nothing but parade out D Rich to the schools that do show up.
I have spoken to several kids on STVM who told me straight up that they missed him and it probably cost them a shot at moving up in the region. The line coach said he was a missing piece, too, and that is right from a veteran coach. But these kids get screwed by the economic environment, too...so why smack him now.

I would think that if he were that "Big" of an asset to StV, they would have been able to find some sort of "scholarship" money for him to continue to go there.

Record doesn't matter. Gulley's educational needs fit well with that school and he'll have a four year degree paid for. A serious congratulations goes out to Tyson. Good luck on and off the field.
