I don't believe OHSAA changed the start of basketball practice date or the first week of games when they went to the 16 team playoffs (moving from 8 teams).
You have to have a football team make it to regional semi- finals to affect the start of basketball season schedule.
I never said the OHSAA changed the start of basketball. My point was that if they push the football season back as has been suggested, it will affect more kids who play both sports than it currently does.
I think the regular season should be shorten to 9 games. Either a bye week within the season or 9 straight….Having to go 16 games to win a state championship is entirely too many games. Especially for D5-7 schools whose rosters are limited in size and most kids play both ways.
