D7 R25 2022

Honest question: What are the chances of this happening? Just curious what people think...
100%
My Prediction:
1)JFK
2)Lucas
3)Lowellville
4)Southern

JFK vs Southern: JFK wins 44-17
Lucas vs Lowellville: Rockets win 35-34

JFK vs Lowellville Regional Final: JFK wins 51-21

I can see it now:

Coach Mamula - "Boys, we had a great week of practice. Really proud of how you guys worked and stayed focused. But Mother Nature's not on our side. It's raining. We don't have a chance. I'm going to go let them know there's no way we can play in the rain. Y'all hit the showers & grab some wedding soup."
...grab some wedding soup. :LOL::LOL::LOL::LOL::LOL::LOL::LOL::LOL::LOL::LOL::LOL::LOL::LOL::LOL::LOL::LOL::LOL::LOL:

Our only meeting vs the Rockets...

8/28/2015 @ their place...........Lucas 70, Lowellville 0

NOPE. Better options? Sure. Cleaner? Absolutely. But if you’re hosting Lucas/Warren folks you don’t take them to the latest trendy gastropub with modern interiors and a legit cocktail menu. You share your real culture and take your to the boat!
ok fine, minor change in plans though. If we're going to The Boat, we're gonna pass on ice cream afterwards and go straight for the tetanus shot.

Honestly, I don't think Lowellville can stack up physically with Lucas. They'll score, but not near enough...

Lucas 54, Lowellville 28
I’m actually on the Lucas train for this game. Stopping your stupid offense takes a toll plus it will keep Vinny off the field. No onboard with the 54. Can you score 54 with that O?

Yes. I equate Lowellville with D6 Mapleton. We hung 55 on them.

If this thread is this intense in week 5 of the regular season, inject it into my veins in late October and November. I want bodies all over the floor.

True. Does anyone know if Pasteur is bringing back the ‘teams to root for’ feature? It was there early in the season, but I don’t see it now.
I'd guess it will show up around week 7. If you wait until week 4 and beyond to look at it . . . WOW is he accurate. Like having our very own Sam "Ace" Rothstein. Every time I see someone on this site disparage Dr Drew the thought "uh oh, hide your pens. Nicky Santoro is going to be paying someone a visit."

Yeah his work is great and under-appreciated. He does something similar with division 3 basketball teams and their tournament chances. It’s quite amazing. A great resource to have.

Just a thought on seeding…

It’s way to early to talk about running the table.
5-5 is realistic for Lucas as it sits. (Cubs have a few question marks and a tough row to hoe)

There’s not enough pop in Southern/Toronto/Lowellville schedule even at 10-0

NSP may not have enough “good points” wins left either. And a running clock is waiting for them with Crestview. Gonna out Flyer the Flyers, again.

Danville cleared what should be a nice points boost last Friday. I’m telling you, they’re scrappy. A little closer to what I expected to see with Hillsdale. …and a nice pedigree.

JFK aside? There are some dynamic matchups looming in the post season, and few programs that should have a chip on their shoulder.

Lowellville smoke has been super fun though.

I agree 100% with this.
Lowellville's schedule will ultimately hurt them more than help them I feel allowing Toronto, Southern, Danville and NSP into this mix.

I watched Southern play McDonald, not a good barometer of how good they are, but they have Valley Christian and United at the back end, that will show who they are.
Don't know much about Toronto, but see they play Edison who I watched absolutely steam roll Mathews, which is a whole different story. Other than that I'm not seeing quality wins there.
I just can't get aboard the Lowellville train. They have Sebring, McDonald, and Western Reserve left who are atrocious. Waterloo, who I have no tangible knowledge of, and Ridge and Milton. Ridge and Milton both sit at 4-0, all 4 wins each coming against bottom feeders. With Milton probably playing the weaker between the two. I expect Milton to get buried and wouldn't be surprised to see Ridge lose to Springfield.
Moral of the story, playing the the schedules of Lowellville, Ridge, and Milton are about as sturdy wet truck stop toilet tissue.

Seeding ultimately won't matter, the contenders are going to be there and the pretenders will be shown the exit, I will say it will be a shame if Lucas and JFK aren't seeded for a possible regional final. I'd like to see that game.

Southern-Valley Christian is going to be a very interesting matchup. Southern dismantled Valley last year, but you know Andy Hake is going to have his guys fired up. Im anxious to see the outcome of that game.

Southern is very well coached and very physical not a lot of skill, would be a interesting match with Loweville clash of styles
When we played Southern in 2019, very well coached but no discipline. I saw a lot of late hits and I think one ejection. Their fans on the other hand, different story.
