Early predictions. This is a power rating and not based on potential Harbin points. No threat to Toledo CC. Of the regions I have ranked so far only Kirtland and Massillon have easier Regions.

Defiance will give the Irish their biggest challenge in-region. Hashed it over a bit more on the CC thread, but a fair amount of questions to be answered on the OL/DL and at QB. All it takes is one bad game for David to upset Goliath.

Always reading and evaluating, very early to even be guessing! Probably won't even look at this seriously until beginning of August. The cookie will crumble by then.
 
Honestly, I think that Toledo Central Catholic is the odds-on favorite to win this region. I can't speak too much on the Northwest/Western Ohio teams, but of this list, Benedictine will definitely step it up big time. Lutheran West should make a playoff run, but I'm curious to see how deep of a run they can make this year.

Padua went 4-6 last year against a gauntlet and came within 1 yard and 3 seconds of miracle victory over Walsh in week 10 which would've put them in the playoffs with a chance at making noise against anyone but TCC like they did in 2022.

While Padua dropped 3 losses from last year's schedule (Youngstown Ursuline, Bishop Watterson, and Brecksville), it added Alliance, Lutheran West and Perkins, all good teams in their own right. Also swapped 1-9 Salem for 3-7 Elyria Catholic. Lake Catholic appears to be loaded.

No debate that Padua deserves to be initially ranked somewhere between 6 and 10 but with its brutal schedule again that includes 6 away games, I could see a repeat of 2023 where it's tough just to get to 5-5 and get a seed in the 12-16 range.

Looks like it's #1, the chasm, #2 and then another chasm, and then anything could happen 3-15 or 3-20 especially with such varying strengths of schedules.

They might make the playoffs but anyone 18 and under (rankings not age) won't be a factor. #1 is #1. To be realistic #4 to #12 control their own destiny. WIN or go down below #16.

I just wish the OHSAA would use formulas closer to Drew Pasteur's. Look at the competition Buckeye and Rocky River play. River will lose big to Perkins, then both should run the table except when they play each other. River gets 6 points for beating John Marshall since it's D1???

Seems about right. Padua plays a stout defense but offense and kick coverage are atrocious. Deserve to drop at least 2 slots. 4 picks including a pick 6 and a fumble-and-scoop 6 accounted for 14 of Sandusky's 28 points last Friday. Throw in an game opening kickoff return, and Padua's D only gave up 7.

Bunch of 3-3 to 5-1 teams that are roughly equal. I follow Padua who will likely end up 5-5, perhaps 6-4. No where near as good as their 2022 team that made a deep playoff run, but I'd put them up against any of the others currently ranked above them as well as a handful ranked below them. Lots of parity here. Playoffs will be interesting 3-14 with probably a few seed "upsets" due to some getting high seeds via weak schedules.

Main goal of every team in R10 is to avoid being the 15 or 16 seed. That's a death sentence.

Changes might look funny but I finished up this region as the games were being played last Friday so while they weren't posted for week 8 I had them.
 
With the exception of who hosts the 8-9 game, this bracket is set. As has been pointed out many times, this is one of the weakest Regions in the state where 0.500 records "earn" home playoff games. Other than TCC and Benedictine, there aren't any teams capable of winning at state title. Just look at Region 9 where a 7-3 record nets a #12 seed.

Looks like me like an all-parochial final 4 in this region with the Captain Obvious prediction of TCC winning Region 10

Lutheran West at Toledo Central Catholic
Revere vs. Copley (8-9 still TBD)
Holy Name at Rocky River - #4 seed RR gets exposed for its poor SOS
Lexington at Maumee
Norwalk at Buckeye
Midview at Padua - second most likely "upset" here. Should be a very close game between two evenly matched teams that play in tough conferences. The winner will beat #2 seed Buckeye the following week.
Tiffin at Benedictine
Bowling Green at Defiance

Copley at TCC
Holy Name at Maumee
Padua at Buckeye - repeat of 2022 where Buckeye, like RR, gets exposed for its weak SOS

this is for raising for daughters i disagree with you on holy name on beating rocky river because holy name lost to .500 west holmes 42-10 so i see rocky river going on even with poor strength of schedule because this isnt one of holy name better teams.so idont see holy name moving on to play maumee. lexington @maumee is a good match up lexington has a bettewr defense and maumee has a better offense so i rate this game a toss-up so i wouldnt see lexington win this game.
