My question is “can LaSalle stop the Anderson offense?”
The better question is can Anderson's defense stop LaSalle's offense?

La Salle made a couple key plays when they had to against Elder and really benefitted from a huge mistake at the end by Elder's sophomore QB and a GREAT play by our senior defenser. But they really didn't do a lot of stopping an Elder offense the Elder folks think is terrible. Anderson will be quite a tall task if they even get there.

And La Salle's offense has been bad most of the year. Again, they made some plays last week with some actually imaginative play calling and throwing the ball. Hopefully they're hitting their stride now at the right time of year.

I was under the impression that the Lancer offense was actually pretty decent this year and their QB was finally doing good things.

Last week was LaSalles best game they have played all year collectively. On all phases of the ball they made plays when they had too and made less mistakes. Idc what elders record was, no matter what gcl games are always going to be tough. If they play like they did last week they won’t have any issue getting to the regional finals vs Anderson

I think the playcalling was the best it has been for Lasalle vs Elder. Coach Pat spread the ball out to pretty much everyone and had the defense on their heels. Pair that with a great run game, should get to the Regional Final with relative ease IMO. Defense is another point of issue though…

I cant believe no one is talking about Lima Sr. They have the best offensive of anyone in this region, by far.
Hey buddy.....

What was it you were saying about that Lima offense being the best by far in the region? How'd that go? They got shut out??? Yea, that's because they weren't good.

Meanwhile Anderson put up 78 points tonight.

Maybe next week you could travel to watch Anderson and see what a true offensive dominant team looks like.

So did Anderson just run it up on Friday night? I know it’s 1v 16, but 78 points with what had to be a running clock all 2nd half seems excessive.

Only scored 16 in 2nd half

Got it. 62 in a half is nuts, but that's what the OHSAA has given us with 16 teams. 78 was just a number that raised my eyebrows, made me wonder if there might be some sort of coaching beef between the schools and somebody wanted to make a point.

Apparently went for 2 on the extra points. That seems excessive.

I can’t verify this, but the USBN Sports (Anderson broadcast) sideline reporter said at halftime that the Anderson coaches tried to offer Edgewood a running clock after the first quarter when it was 32-0. Edgewood declined, so Anderson continued with their game plan up until it was 62-0 in the second quarter I believe before putting in backups.

Again this is just me reporting what I heard on an Anderson broadcast. I don’t know if it’s true.

Its quite obvious after the 1st quarter and 32-0 you shut your whatever offense down.
You run the ball. They were scoring every 2 minutes in the first half. No need to interject anything else. Nothing is gained on either side but embarassment.
Hope they get a chance against Massillon or some other D2 powerhouse. Not an edgewood fan either. Have been involved in plenty of these type games however.

I'm an Edgewood guy and I disagree. Its not fair to your team to drastically change your mode of operation just because the other team is terrible. They put the JV in and ran the program. If you still can't stop it, then take your lumps and get on the bus. Anderson did nothing wrong here. It could have been 120 -0 the way Edgewood was playing.

Ran 33 plays. Two rushing touchdowns, pick 6, punt return. Last three scores were from back ups. Short of taking a knee for more than half I am not sure what Anderson could have done not to score.

Yeah I put my foot in my mouth. I have known Bill Lawrence for a long time. That was disappointing to see that. They looked like a pee-wee team on Friday. I take back my statement. I guess the schedule and playing terrible teams completely led to those stats. He still cant coach. Watched it for years when he was at Kenton.
