D1 Sectional Projections - DubStat

DubStat

Ohio wrestling analytics
Individual and Team projections for every sectional in the state of Ohio. Division 1 Edition.
Weight classes are based on a wrestler's lowest weight wrestled. Some have been adjusted based on credible sources.

There is at least one spot where you have two guys from the same team qualifying out of a sectional. Centerville- 175 is one I saw.

These are about like Bucksman, they have guys at wrong weight, same team placing 2 guys, they are just a guide to look at, not broken down by each person. Dubstat info is all based off raw date, no opinion or personal influence, which is a great perspective to have.

@WGTJ Ah yes that was a rare case where two wrestlers from the same team and weight have the exact same Elo rating. I took the top rated wrestler from each school and in this case it just so happened to be two wrestlers. I didn’t manually check each weight to make sure this didn’t happen but I doubt it’s prevalent.

Also for the weight classes, I explained above that I took the lowest weight a wrestler competed in this season unless I had good reason to move them up. Nobody outside of the coaches, parents, and wrestlers knows where many of these guys will end up at sectionals.

Once sectionals are complete, everyone’s weight will be known and the rankings will reflect that.

Why are there two Montgomery kids from Louisville, both at 126 but different rankings and different first names. Boro has a Liam and Dubstat has a Mikhail. Same kid, different names?

Brothers . The junior Liam is out for ankle injury, 126 but wrestled tournaments at 32 so I guess that’s why he listed there. Wrestled on it injured at Hoover and couldn’t finish. Freshman or sophomore brother at 26 spot since then. Not sure who will be there for sectionals.
