If I'm Valley View and Liberty Center I'd be rewatching the YouTube of last year's semi-final game at Clyde. Big QB who could pull it down and run with strong skill people at the edge. The Tigers struggled to cover multi receiver combo routes & will need to clean that up. Valley can see the inside traps and off tackle plays that LC executes so well. I think LC will prevail, but if VV can throw effectively this one could satisfy those that prefer offense.
Totally different secondary unit only given up 2/3 passing TDs on first team. Last year #6 for LC got burnt 3 times. LC has better DB coverage this year can’t compare Apples to Oranges

I am an LC fan up here in NW OH. Great program, rich tradition. I also loved in SW OH for 20+ year during VV’s heyday. This is a matchup of 2 schools with great football traditions. These forums are fun & I enjoy the back and forth banter all in the spirit of supporting our teams. There's been some excellent observations about both team IMO that are spot on. I’m attaching a Dayton Daily News article “Top 8 Players in VV HS football history”. These 2 versions for both HS’s have very contrasting styles and we’ll get to see it all play out Friday night. Of course I am biased towards LC giver them an edge because of their balance between offense & defense. But a key injury here or there & anything can happen. VV’s QB is very impressive athlete and there’s probably more resting on his shoulders more than there is on any single player for LC. Although #2 Colton Kruse RB/LB & #75 Landon Bockleman are the clear leaders and tone setters for LC.

I think our success this week is dependent on the health of our key players which is questionable right now.

After reading all of this, I may have to change my pick to VV. They have the best QB that LC has ever faced...multi very talented receivers....and well, look what SR did to them last year! Plus LC has not played any competition this year....with this newly
discovered information, I'll have to go with VV 49- LC 6....only because I know LC has a good kicker and should be able to squeeze out a couple field goals.

The senior class at LC is huge and the 8th grade class coming in has 0 from open enrollment and is a small class. Should be D6.

#19 is done for the season. #63 & #7 are gonna go Friday is what I’m hearing.
Sad to hear about Rentz 😔 he was pretty upset after the game last week understandably, what a great season he has had!

Well if you thump a D7 school with 13 kids, how good can you say that team is.. VV beat Middletown-Madison earlier in the year when they were top-10 in the state and they never won another game the rest of
Has LC came across a tough opponent this year? I don't see anyone higher than D4 while VV has played D2 and D3 teams this season and handled them. Hard for me to envision a blowout in this game. Should be a good one!
VV didn't even win their own league, which is not as tough as the NWOAL. LC is battled tested weekly...VV hasn't seen a team this physical. Nor have they seen a line this good. We have heard the same story every week. The only close game LC has seen was Coldwater, and that's only because of a terrible first half or that game is 31-7. As great as VV is suppose to be, don't overlook the fact that they lost their league title by giving up 40 points in a single game.

I hope you're correct. I think we'll see Liberty Center vs Perry in Canton. It just sounds, from everyone's description of Valley View, that they pose some of the same challenges as the Tigers faced last year. You're right in that if LC can cover in the back, their front will control VV's ground attack.

Remember though...CB numbers are in arrears, meaning those who play this year from OE count toward the totals
I posted the Bylaws somewhere this week that explain it all. For instance if you look at this yrs chart, it will say CB22, meaning from last yrs roster.
After the season Schools must complete their forms and submit and it included all players 10-12, and any FROSH who played this yr for next yrs CB total.

I'll get off this horse, for.now, as I'm here just mostly to educate and stoking some fires is just fun some times.

Something that hasn't been talked about much....can anyone post a turnover differential for each team? I thought I heard that coming into last week, LC only had 4 or 5 on the year. I think VV threw an int. or two last week....anyone with info on this? More than likely will come down to whoever can play a cleaner penalty/turnover free game.

I believe LC 's giveaway is 5 and takeaway is 26.

Boasting about rhe Division 2 and Division 3 teams you beat all had losing records and only 2 or 3 wins against a team with a winning record.
I don't play or coach for them or have a single affiliation to VV so don't say "you" but I suggest an exhibition game between the D2 4-6 team vs the 9-1 D7 team and we'll see who is a better opponent. The point I'm really trying to make is to not overlook VV as being a blowout. Still a one loss team full of talent. LC is probably the better team with how you guys can't stop hyping their size up but we'll see.

Pretty sure VV threw 2 INTs last week and 3 the previous week.

Think Liberty Center has a little bit of the MACtosis from beating Coldwater last week. Bellbrook, Waynesville, and Brookville would all be 13-1 or better against LC’s schedule, Edgewood might be too. VV was 4-1 against those teams and controlled those 4 wins. Not sure what happened week 10 against Waynesville but VV has plenty of bulletin board material!

From what I e seen of VV, they look to be bigger than LC at the line. 94, 53, 70, 56 are very big kids. How many predictions have you seen calling for a blowout?

I watched the VV/Bellbrook game and I think Bellbrook would have 4, possibly 5 losses playing LC schedule. I haven't seen Waynesville or Brookville, so can't comment on them.

From the film I've watched, I don't think this game is won or lost in the secondary. This game will be decided between how VV can contain #75 and #70 on LC's defensive line. That, and how Henson is able to beat pressure. If LC uses that pass rush to cave in the pocket all night long, Henson will have to find time with his feet. If he's not able to do that, big advantage to LC. If Henson turns the ball over, big advantage to LC. If VV gives Henson time, or he can find time, he will have success. The last scenario will make this a very competitive football game. The other two scenarios, LC controls the ball and time of possession.

I'll be honest when I say I completely disagree. Who is beating Bellbrook 4 or 5 times on that list? LC played 5 schools with losing records that were DV-DVII. Wauseon is barely .500 in DIV. I think LC is a fantastic football team. Definitely one of the Top 4 in the state in DV. They very well may win this game, and they may win the state championship. I don't doubt any of that. At the same time, I don't think they played a particular strong regular season schedule either. It's mostly DV or smaller schools, of those, only Archbold or Patrick Henry, have substantially strong records. I think Bellbrook would handle almost all of them with ease.

Bellbrook is a DIII program that's had playoff success and challenges themselves with their schedule. They beat Tipp City who is a nice DIII playoff team. Went toe to toe with Maimisburg who played in the DI playoffs. Gave Alter, a DIV State Semi-Finalist, all they could handle.

The best thing about all of this is that it will play out on the field in 2 days. I think both of these teams are well coached and focused…you don’t get this far and not be. For many of these “kids” come late Friday night a great experience that they’ll remember for the rest of their lives will come to an end. Emotions will spill out, fans will cheer on next years team but for a period of time many of these 15-18 year olds will be hit with the emotions of their football playing days are over. Support your team long after the clock hits zero.

Bingo. CW had guys open but with absolutely no time to throw because the DL of LC dominated there was no time. It forced CW to do much more rollouts than normal, of which I hate as it shrinks the field and passing lanes, but I digress.

If VV can somewhat handle the DL, and not get steamrolled by the LC Offensive line, they have a punchers chance. If VV lines perform like CW's lines then this will be a laugher.

Forgot to mention Eaton as well. Valley View has had a tougher schedule and is more battle tested in my opinion. Ultimately it will be decided on the field and I am sure LC is a heck of a team. If you are playing the day after Thanksgiving you are a heck of a team! These predictions of VV being a 19 point underdog are a bunch of crap though.

I agree. LC by 18 😂😲🤭

VV can not turn the ball over. LC gets a td lead and they will pound the rock all night, and watch that clock run. 2 more days

VV defense depends on the d-line. If it is a dry field and kruse boys are able to get to the secondary, VV will struggle. At that point they will just have to keep up. But if they contain them at the line of scrimmage, we got a heck of a game on our hands.

One question that I am curious about is, can Henson take a hit. Because that could make a huge impact on the game.
He's a true dual threat QB, in that VV will also call straight running plays for him. So I would say, yes, he can. Would any QB want to get hit by those big boys up front for LC? I highly doubt it.
