D-4 Willard District

What about the St. Peter's game plan last night...

They played old school stall ball. At the half it was SMCC 9, St. Peter's 4.
St. Peter's had 4 total points with 3 mins left in the 3rd period. 4 points. Four. Points.

This stuff rarely, rarely works for the team trying it that doesn't have the horses. They'd have just been better off to play it out and enjoy the game. Holgate is about the only program around who could get away with doing this, but that was also their style day-in and day-out, 24/7, year after year. It was their culture. You don't just up and decide to do this for one game and expect to be successful, barring a miracle.

I am just in shock that a program who is only three years removed from an AP poll title is now resorting to stall ball. They tried it against Lucas, and for a little while, it didn't work to bad. However, like you said, when you don't have the horses, it is near impossible to pull off.

Top 4 seeds all move on and it will be Lucas vs St Mary’s at 6:15 then the 3rd time for St Paul vs South Central at 8.
